Q: 2021 was expected to be a good year for the agriculture industry. However it appears the heat wave in North America will reduce harvest. NTR comprises 4.5% of my growth portfolio. Would it be a good idea to reduce exposure in NTR?

Q: WTG has announced a "modified dutch auction" to buy back $1Billion worth of shares.
Is there anything to be learned from previous companies that did this? The trading activity is going to be skewed for the next few months. I believe the price will trade closer to $98 over the next few weeks.

I owned shares of HCG when they did a similar proposal and I recall regretting not selling to the market just before the offer closed because it traded above the cutoff price.

Q: Thanks for the great work in educating and helping us. Currently I have no exposure to Debt and all Investment is in Equity Stock or Pref. I was trying to use Preference shares as a proxy for Bond. Is that a wise strategy? Want to move some fund to Bonds/Debentures. With a long term view of 10 + years in a registered account can you recommend 2 bonds and 2 ETFs. Thanks

Q: Can you recommend a resource/book for my young teenager to begin learning about investing. The TV ads seem to focus only on the get-rich-quick trading aspects of making money without mentioning the get-poor-quick consequences of bad trading discipline.

I wanted something they could learn at their level to help evaluate the strength of a company as well as overall macroeconomy and technical analysis.

They may well decide to be traders as they turn into young men but at least having the knowledge of fundamentals, how to understand financial statements and technical would give them a foundation to build upon.
