Q: Hi there, I'm looking to add a smaller gold company to accompany my holding in KL. How would you rank the 4, from best to worst overall? Is there a better name than the 4 I have suggested? Thank you!

Q: I currently own LNR, was hoping for better results. Thinking of replacing it with LSPD, as LNR investment may be dead money with upcoming labour contracts due this fall. Appreciate your input. Thank you

Is XAW a good strategy and good ETF to easily diversify outside Canada. Also, is there other similar ETF’s that you suggest investing which excludes Canada for a world diversification.

Q: Can you tell me if it is common practice to use total return or price return as the benchmark when comparing personal year end returns to the TSX or S&P? I'm seeing many sites use the lower return (price return excluding dividends) which obviously makes returns look better in comparison. But if i'm comparing my portfolio which has some dividend income why wouldn't the benchmark also include its dividends to truly see which performed better? Just wondering what the accepted practice is? Thx

Q: I asked a question earlier about Caisse Desjardins Federal Capital Shares. Thankyou for your answer. I left a crucial element out, though. The holder of these shares is 98 this week. If this instrument acts something like a preferred share, it probably wouldn't be appropriate for her . I am thinking, for example, of the performance of CPD, recently. But, it seems to be a bit different than a preferred share, too. But, there still doesnt seem to be any guarantee, like a real fixed income instrument. Thanks

Q: Happy New Year 5i,
Is there anywhere I could get a complete list of the holdings in HBAL, VBAL, XBAL? I realize VBAL is 12,595! XBAL 16,000 plus! I am thinking there might be spreadsheets available somewhere. I am just doing a bit of education with my children and grandchildren.

I have a healthy appetite for risk looking at a 5+ year timeline and want to start a new half weight position in one of these two in my RRSP. Which would you give the nod to for best capital appreciation going forward given the current market & their valuations.
