Q: Hello 5i.
Could you please give me your top 3 U.S. and 3 CDN stocks you would buy full positions in this week (risk and sector not a concern) with good momentum leading in to 2018.

Q: I like KXS but am concerned over its valuation. Its price is very high in comparison to other software companies. Given your past recommendations for KXS, what justifies the premium over say something like CSU?

Q: In the December 5th, 2017 press release, DHX stated that:

"in connection with its strategic review process, it has received Toronto Stock Exchange (“TSX”) approval to delay the holding of its annual general meeting to a date which will be no later than February 27, 2018."

In your experience, does this imply news is to come? or is it just a normal proceeding for companies in this situation?

Further, would there be any compelling case to obtain a position in this stock after tax-loss selling season?

Q: Hello in a recent answer to question about the growth portfolio you mentioned some planned changes. Do you have approximate time when we will see those updates? I hold the majority of the stocks with the exception of about 8 stocks but thinking of holding off until I see the updates/changes.

Q: Hi, i would like to by some stocks for my kids. Each have about 600$ to start with.
I would like dividens that they can spend for these stocks so that they don't touch the main capital invested. They have quite a bit in other accounts which i don't won't them to spend. What stocks would you suggest. thanks.

Q: Firstly I want to wish the folks at 5i a happy holiday and thanks for offering a unique and valuable resource for retail investors.

Looking at the insider transactions on the 5i website, how can I tell if a transaction is a buy or a sell when the transaction is recorded as "acquisition or disposition"? I would like to distinguish between these two.

Q: Dear Gentlemen,
My Financial sector (including REIT) is 13% actualy.
After selling PWF, CUF.un I want to add 5%
Actual holding : SLF 3%. BNS 2.5%, TD 2.2%, GS 1.8%, BAM.A, 0.7%, PWF 1%, CUF.un 1.1%,
Please suggest 2 Can or US stocks and 1 US/Global ETF for long term (don't need income).

Q: I appreciate that to date, you haven't been overly enthusiastic about TWM, however, given that its recent results seemed to be good, the POR on its 2.5% dividend is only 34%, it just graduated to the TSX and finally, two days ago it entered into an agreement with TransAlta to build an inter-Alberta pipeline, might it perhaps be worth closer scrutiny?

Management certainly seem to have their eye on the ball.

Q: I am managing my children's RESP account. Both of them are in university. Every year I am liquidating assets to put in a high daily savings account that is not earning anymore than 1%. It is used to pay for their schooling for the year. I expect my children will still be going to university for another 5 years. I thought an alternative to this strategy is to buy a basket of rate reset preferred share with guaranteed rates? Could you give me a list of 5 rate reset preferred shares with guaranteed minimum rates? Also what do you think of this strategy?

Q: Hi Peter, I am wondering if you have heard about this US stock. I find this REIT pretty interesting in owning properties of data centers rather than commercial, residential, shopping mall developments. Their financial statements looks pretty sound since 2005. Is this the only player in town? If all they hold is the land and tech just keeps advancing long term, what possibly could go wrong with this company (besides bad management)? Your thoughts? Thanks.
