Q: Would BHP be a good alternative to TCK? Or should it also be avoided? BHP's dividend is getting pretty high...do you think it is at risk?

Q: Hi Peter,
In view of the depressed oil prices, and rising interest in green energy, would it be advisable to reduce my oil holdings and increase my renewable energy holdings.
I presently have 6.4% in BEP, 5.3% ENB,3.8% TRP, 2.0% HSE.

Q: I bought a small position in EDR (Endeavour) about 5 years ago and am currently under water about 35%. My intention was to hold on to it till prices improve as the company seems to have a reasonable balance sheet. However,I noted this morning that the company intends to sell $16.5M in shares at market price. Would you comment on this. Is this a reasonable move for the company or will it ultimately just dilute the pot. Thanks.

Q: I saw on Canadianinsider.com that the chairman of TII just unloaded 450,000 shares in a "disposition by gift". What would this typically mean (ie transferring shares to a family member maybe)?
Generally insiders have been buying shares in the open market and adding to their positions in this company so I just wanted to clarify what this means and if I should be worried.

Q: Seems to me with the downward spiral of big box stores and the rise of internet shopping at places like Amazon, doesn't it seem logical that UPS should benefit long term from this trend? How do you feel about this particular stock and do you have any other favourites in the sector?

Q: I have been into and out of RUF a couple of times but do not own it right now.
Currently I like the 6.7% yield and am thinking that it is well priced with the drop in share prices. But with the new equity offering just announced, I am wondering if I should wait in the expectation of further price declines or if this would be a good buying opportunity.

What do you think? Are there other REITs that you would rank significantly highter than RUF?

Do you think that the energy stocks (CPG, VET, etc) will come under pressure in December as institutional investors will try to get rid off them so that their year-end statements look good? Or this type of selling has been done already?

Q: I am looking at losers in my US portfolio for tax loss selling. Considering building cash to buy Cal-Maine Foods, Visa and Pepsico. Which of the following stocks would you consider candidates, out of Polaris, Sodastream and Bed Bath & Beyond? The stocks all seem to have good fundamentals especially BBBY (as you remarked in an earlier question from January 2014). Would you endorse the switch?
