Q: I am retired and living on dividend income. 80% of my funds are in my income portfolio, which is focused on dividends and yield (approx. 20 stocks) and meet my income needs.
So I am considering investing the remaining 20% of my funds in your balanced portfolio for more capital appreciation. How would you recommend I go about this? If I also mirror your balanced portfolio, I would have 40+ stocks in my portfolio.
Would you therefore recommend 5 stocks that look most attractive at current valuations and invest equally in each?

Q: Good afternoon,

A positive piece in Barron's postulated that this stock may have significant upside. What do you think of whirlpool? Do you see significant growth? Also, would you be a buyer at these levels ? Or do you see better opportunities in industrials, and oh so, can you make a few suggestions.

Q: Hello.
At the moment Assure Holdings reminds me of CRH or PHM before the market took notice and the explosive share price gains that followed. Can you comment on valuation and overall as a speculative position? It looks quite cheap to me albeit a very limited public reporting history. Keystone recently recommended the stock as a spec buy. I'm interested to get 5i's take. Thanks.

Q: I would like to ask for your opinion and comment on my investment approach with reference to hedged to CAD or un-hedged versions of ETF's available from Canadian issuers. My approach has been the following:
- keep US equity ETF un-hedged;
- keep developed and emerging international equity ETF's hedged to CAD;
- keep US bond ETF's hedged to CAD.
I am aware that this approach was not too benefitial during the past month or two, and I am starting to have second thoughts, but I figure I better ask for a second opinion from a pro before I make any changes. This is where you guys step in...

Q: With the upcoming NAFTA re-negotiations, Telecom is area that the US has indicated that it would to discuss. Do you think that this could put downward pressure on Telus, BCE and Rogers. IF yes which one would you think would hold up better ?

Q: I bought FHH as downside protection for my portfolio. Now it appears the downside hedge has been removed. Is my assessment correct? If so can you recommend a better allocation if I sell FFH?
