Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Hi, I think I know all the positives for this company but based on the valuation would you buying right now? How does the current valuation stack up to it’s historical? Or those of their “peers”. I know a long term investor shouldn’t time things, and I hear that sage voice saying buy when others are fearful, it’s just hard for me to pull the trigger (I think I’m one of the fearful ones)

Thanks for your advice.

Q: I'm watching IFP rally the last two or so days on heavy volumes. I don't see any news. Do you have any insight into this movement? What is your opinion on this stock for the next year or so?
Thanks for this opportunity to ask questions; it is a wonderful service!

Q: Would you suggest some ETFs that capture U.S. & Cdn stocks - top ones that hold top DOW, NASDQ & S&P? My son is 33 YO - has RRSP, TFSA and Non- Reg acct, I believe he owns some NVIDIA stock. I realize not a lot of info. My investment strategy is quite different as I am not - as a priority, focused on growth; but, dividend growers which has served me well over the last 15 years.
Thank you,
James

Q: For a TFSA if you could pick a few value stocks that have good balance sheets and maybe provide a “margin of safety” if we did have a recession, but also show some promising upside in the medium term if the stars align what would they be? (I’m agnostic on sector and cap size, US or Canada)
Thank you

Q: Hi Peter, My question is about returns in the S&P during a four year Presidents term. On average what are the markets (ie S&P 500 ) return in year 1 vs year 2 vs year 3 vs year 4. I heard an analyst mention that the best returns come in year 3. Can you confirm the returns by year. I appreciate the great service.

Q: I have the following equally weighted in my rrsp and tfsa accounts. ATZ, TOI, DOO, CSU, NVEI, AC, TFII, ATD, WSP, LMN. My time horizon for these investments is 8-10 years. I am looking for growth in these accounts as I have dividend paying companies in my non registered accounts. Would you recommend any changes to this list or a different weighting?
Thank you.
