Q: Does this company look good at current prices? Or should one wait for a drop. I have already started a small position. It’s interesting to note that the company says that they recover the costs of opening a store within the first year..and they plan to open several stores within the next couple of years..looks like they can handle inflation..what are your thoughts. Thanks. Shyam

Q: Hi 5i,
Do you think that GXE is an attractive take over candidate, based on its size, share price, balance sheet and, perhaps most importantly, the nature and location of its in the ground assets. (I benefited entirely fortuitously, but significantly, from WCP's buyout of TORQ some time ago, and I wonder if something similar could be in the offing for GXE....).
Thanks for your thoughts,
Peter

Q: Please help me with my thinking regarding the Brookfield bunch of companies.
Brookfield has for years, been criticized for its complex structure and until relatively recently had been simplifying. However, we now see a lot of activity with the formation of BBU , BAMR , BEPC and the soon to be ( new) BAM. They are selling companies to their affiliated companies ( Westinghouse , BBU to BEP ).
It is getting confusing. Could there some sort of financial shenanigans going on here ?
I have owned BIP and BEP happily for years and am close to buying BAM but am waiting until after new BAM has been spun out. I have looked at investing in all the Brookfield companies at one time or another but believe that Bruce Flatt has made his fortune from BAM stock so it seems best to follow his lead.
Your thoughts are appreciated.

Q: I dipped my toe I the preferred share market at the offering of BROOKFIELD REN-A S-18 PFD in April. But being new to me I am hoping you can explain the ins and outs of what I purchased. I will be honest, I saw Brookfield renewable, 5.5% and the word preferred and hit the buy button. since that time it has steadily declined. the redeemable date is April 2027. Additional questions are: 1) on the redemption date will they be redeemed at my purchase price or market price? 2) the current yield based on current price is 7.31% would you buy more at current price? 3) for future reference when should an investor buy this type of share?
thanks for the great service. deduct as many credits as you feel is fair.

Q: Was around $7 then a Murray Wealth Group report leaked that they will miss earnings on the high side. The stock went fro $7 to $5. Then the earnings came out and after initially rising over $5, they have now dropped to $3.70.

Was the earnings bad enough to warrant this drop? Does this make sense or is the a "table pounding buy" with a present PE of lower than 10?
Thanks
