Q: What are your thoughts regarding Medison's open letter today to GUD shareholders? their campaign seams to have gathered quite a bit of momentum if we believe all that is written. Is this necessarily a bad thing? I have been here from the start and i'm not sure what to do. Not much reaction in the stock today. Your comments would be much appreciated as always.
thanks,

Q: Hello 5i
I have to increase the international component of my portfolio, according to the Analytics program. By a lot. I therefore have a couple of questions, as the analytics program gives only Canadian hedged products and I will be buying in US dollars.
First, VWO is currently 2.5 per cent of our portfolio. You often suggest that an etf should compose at least 5%. I have been hesitent with emerging markets. But, do you think that this would be a reasonable increase?
Second. Again in US dollars, I would like something to compliment this. I am thinking that it would be good to have one fund. An all the world except North America fund. In the analytics you suggest VDU. But, as I say, I am buying in US dollars. So, I am looking first of all for an etf suggestion. And secondly, whether this one stop shopping is the best approach. I have to raise about 27% in international, according to your program. I am pretty close to the US allocation, though, so don't need any US.
thanks

Q: Hi if 2020 earning forcast less then 2019, would you still hold on to the stock?
Q: Please commit on latest earnings.
Q: I am considering adding to this co. based on their earnings. The price is drifting lower which is giving me hesitation... what are your comments on the earnings? What about guidance provided?
Q: TIH is the top Industrial on my watch list. Recent earnings look okay with the exception of revenue growth, only up 3% - is this responsible for the drop, or is guidance weak?
Is now a time to initiate a position in TIH?

Q: Two separate questions- deduct as necessary.
Forest product stocks appear to be in a trough right now, and weaker housing starts coupled with over-capacity seem to be holding them back with economic concerns in the background casting a shadow as well. I am wondering if you see a bit of a turning point here given recent capacity cuts, strong employment numbers, and a Fed decision to leave things as they are?
Regarding MFI; I struggle with taking profits too soon, but I have a fairly rapid 30%+ gain here. Your thoughts on its ability to maintain these gains or grind higher would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

Q: I have some cash in my TFSA. What would be your current growth stock to add?
Q: Would you buy SHOP today for a few year hold, or wait for a pull-back? It seems to be going up in leaps, and considering its volatility in the past, I'm wondering if a market pull-back might take it back 10-20% for a better entry point.
Q: Thanks to replying to my question.Would disclosing the information in a presentation on their site be sufficient? I also notice that in their press release of the year end numbers they state:
"The Company secured contracts in North Dakota during 2018 which resulted in moving 23% if it’s fleet from Colorado to North Dakota during the three months ended December 31, 2018. The successful award of North Dakota contracts and reallocation of rental assets to new markets support the Company’s strategy to diversify its markets and customer base. "
It is possible that management concluded that they had made sufficient disclosure with those sentences even though they did not mention that it was all to one customer. What is significant is that the % increased from 23 to 40.

Q: This is not a question about this particular company but simply an example. The notice today on earnings for Carbonite stated:
Non-GAAP EPS were $.44 above estimates for $.36
Net EPS was $.06 missing forecasts by a nickle
It goes on to talk about actual and estimated sales both on an Non-GAAP and GAAP basis.
Can you explain what the difference is between the GAAP and Non-GAAP numbers? and how Non-GAAP earnings of .$44 turn into $ .06 when shown on a NET basis and for your DIY investors, which should we pay attention to?
