Q: If you just received $200K extra cash and would like to invest it in CND and US stocks in a non-registered account for maximum returns in 3-5 years, which CND and US stocks would you choose? For this, higher risk would be acceptable. Please prioritize 4-5 of each of the CDN and US stocks.

Would there be any changes, if it was going into a couple's TFSA's with sufficient contribution room?

Q: I see Zoom as a company with a user friendly product compared to (Sykpe for instance) that most everyone is using. Despite vaccine news which has dropped my Zm stocks into the red, it appears that they have a great product that will still be popular going forward after the pandemic. I see businesses possibly staying with a work remotely model as it saves them money for infrastructure, etc. The question is, will it likely stay as popular and is it likely to get back to close to it's highs any time soon, or would it be better to take the hit, sell and revisit when there is more clarity. Some context: I'm a senior who is using Zoom and a few others as a means to put a little growth in my otherwise low Beta portfolio.

Q: I've noticed that KXS has lost over 20% in the last 10 days. and is down about 3% to day. This appears to be a much larger drop that most of the tech companies. I know it is still up 25% for the year but its come down from around being up 80% earlier this month. Is there an explanation for this what seems to me be an unusually large drop?

Could you provide some insight to the 3rd qtr Earnings report? With 1.3% improvement in revenues and a 9.7% improvement in AFFO, how did their profit drop so dramatically? Is it related to the sale "in line with fair value" of the Regina asset?
Any other take-aways you could share would be appreciated.

Q: I have about 8 grand of my portfolio allocated for these 2 ETFS. Just wondering how you would weight them. For a 20 year hold. Maybe lean toward Japan as they are more allied with the US, but then again Japan is drowning under Debt.

Q: DOO had s short-term pop last Monday on the vaccine news but ended the day lower.
It is surprising to me that a value stock with a low PE would react in this manner.
Is there something that I am not seeing that would account for this drop?
I thought it would go up with the other value names and positive news of a vaccine should have helped this stock.

Q: I need to set up an annual income for my wife, for next 25 years. In TFSA and RRSP, using only ETF's. Dividend growth and HY dividends. Should have 5% yearly and 10% total return. Can you recommend the appropate ETF's. Vanguard/BMO/ I Shares (only)
Please NO EM ETF's One European OK--- Key is 5% annual income. Investment .5M$ It has to be buy and collect for 25 years. No input by my wife.

I am now managing our Mom's ( 92 y.o. ) self-directed investments and have recently done a crystallization of gains in her Non-Registered account, for estate tax planning purposes.
I've now got to decide where to invest this significant amount of cash that she has.
Considering inflation and yet trying not to have too much risk to the downside because there may not be years left to recover from market corrections. Because of her age, I just don't want to be too long-term thinking here.
Any suggestions you can share here, with specific companies or ETFs, would be appreciated.

Q: As an investor, I've been in & out of Questor a few times over the past 10yrs. They seems to have a great technology to reduce green house gases but they never seem to get much traction in the oil/gas industry. For an industry that is under constant scrutiny to reduce emissions you would think they would get better adoption of their technology. What needs to change? The new US government will definitely be more pro regulation to fight climate change but will this be enough. Somehow I think the company should be doing more self promotion within industry.

How would you rate the performance of the management team to date?

Last week was about the 4th big rotation from growth to value this year. This morning Moderna announced success with its vaccine. All the fund managers are now adding extra 10 lb. value weights to their barbells. My barbell has been heavy on the growth side. While you often give target sector weightings, you don’t tend to do it between growth versus value. I know you are growth managers for the most part but does this 2nd vaccine and change in market sentiment now give you pause to consider placing more of a value tilt on one’s portfolio?
