Q: I'm interested in an energy name that I can hold for a minimum of 5 years with good dividends and reliable long term growth? I'm torn between an ETF with less volatility like XEG and an individual stock like CNQ with its higher growth? What do you suggest? Should I wait for a better season?

Q: Re your portfolio analytics tool - I am pretty sure you may not agree with my portfolio….all Canadian dividend payers - financials, pipelines, utilities, telcos etc…you will think I have too much in financials. I live off the dividends without need to touch the capital (other than for some tax planning). I know most investment managers would advise that I should diversify a lot more, but I am comfortable with the composition. With this portfolio in mind and my comfort level, what benefit will your portfolio analytic tool offer me if you accept that I don’t want to hear that I should diversify? I’m trying to figure out if I should upgrade and what benefit I may enjoy. Thanks. Feel free to make this question either private or public.

Q: Good morning,

I was looking for somewhere to put my money for a short period of time and I heard about money market fund etfs and high intrest savings account etfs. I have a vague understanding of the two but would it be possible to get the pros and cons of each and when they preform differently and the worst case scenario (ie what a maximum loss would look like) for these two types of etfs?

Thank you very much,

Aidan

Q: Soon interest rates should begin the inevitable long slow slide down. Can you rank these three sectors, banks, REITs & long term bonds, when the interest rates begin falling? Keep up the excellent work... Thanks.

Q: Hold all four in growth oriented TFSA for several years now. How much overlap do you see among them? How would you rank them first (best) to last? Are any need to own? If reducing number of these four holdings, which ones would you trim or eliminate? Any that could be increased as position size of each is less than 1.5% of total of all portfolios?
