What would you think of a small and speculative purchase of Penn West? The amount involved would be insignificant to the total portfolio but I would not proceed if you view the chance of success as minimal. Thank you.

Q: It seems to me that shorts are a way for some investors to bottom feed. I really don't understand what they are about and why they are allowed. Is there a benefit to allow shorts in the stock market

Q: i originally bought CVE and CPG for dividends and they represent 2% of my portfolio (1% each). I have a few SU shares as part of the COS deal. Now that CVE and CPG have substantially reduced or eliminated their dividends I was considering selling CVE and CPG and buying more SU. My intention is to streamline (reduce) my number of holdings, upgrade the overall quality while keeping my overall energy exposure whole. I also own CVX and CNQ.

Q: I have owned the above Spirit Airlines for a year or so, got in around $74.00 and while the earnings seem positive,the price of fuel is low, it has steadily declined since I have owned. Is it something I should consider selling, it is unfortunately in my rsp, so I am somewhat reluctant. I look forward to your assessment of the stock. Thank you.

Q: I am considering replacing vxc with 50% vti and 50% vxus in my Rrsp. This I think will save some small mer, better for taxation and less losses due to currency exposure. I would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions also about possible alternatives.

Q: I read a recent review in Morningstar and this sounded rather appealing. It would be held in a rrif as a conservative large cap hold. As the gurus seem to feel the C$ has gotten ahead of itself would it be a reasonable purchase time, although that probably matters less than the low fee. (Schwab US Dividend Equity)

Q: Hi team, I know you've mentioned that you don't like dual-class shares. But don't you think that in ATD's case it has actually worked very well? The stock has gone up 500+% in 5 years. Maybe this wouldn't have been achieved had the founders not have had the 10 vs. 1 votes. They obviously have done an excellent job. Your comments pls.

Q: Hi Could you please comment on CSU earnings and the reasons for the miss. FX and strong USD was cited as one reason. What about negative 2% organic growth ? Q: I see Apple is down in after market or pre trading. What does that mean and can a retail investor have access to that? Many feel that the market moves for people in the know before us mere mortals. These types of things don't encourage investment if people think rightly or wrongly that the market is rigged.
