Q: Hi 5i,
'Pop' quiz - I've got a bit of cash burning a hole in my TFSA pocket. Which one (if any) of the above for a quick pop?
Thanks and Happy Holidays,
Peter
Q: At what point would you consider Eat Beyond? My husband and I always have a small amount of "fun" money each to buy stocks here and there. I want to invest in the plant based industry somehow. It would not be a lot of money, and I know it's a risk but just looking for your speculation. Could it possibly go up quite a lot in the next 3-5 years? Maybe after the pandemic when people can focus on their health again.. Thanks for all your help this website is a such a wealth of info.
Q: What are your thoughts on Nano one? There has been some news recently and good performance of their cathode testing.. Wondering if it's buy. Thanks so much!
Q: TC is around 8-10% above its March Covid low and the trend doesn't seem to be moving upward. Do you see some decent price appreciation ahead of this stock? Is it a buy, hold or sell?
Q: Hi 5i,
Currently holder of CIEN. Since latest earnings Dec 14, stock is up around 15%, while after the last earnings in Sept share price essentially fell of a cliff...I believe because of reduced forecasts forward.
What is your current opinion on the short term and long term prospects for this stock based on latest earings? Would you continue to hold this going into the new year or would you take any profits and re-examine in 2021?
Thx
Jim
Q: Hi, I'm currently holding NTR, WSP and GSY in my margin account. I've held NTR for a long time since Potash days and currently still down. I've done really with WSP and GSY but my loss on NTR almost equally offsets those gains. I would like to move some of these into my reg. accounts, what would be the best thing to do? I understand transferring any of these in kind would trigger a deemed disposition and trigger a capital gain/loss. What's your long term view of these positions and what do you think is the best way to proceed? Thanks!
Also, is there any website where you can plug in what you bought a stock at on a certain date and it would track what the market value would be worth now if it went through any splits or mergers?
Q: I'm also looking for some exposure to Healthcare. Not many options in Canada. I use to own Medtronic, Abbott and United Health. Are those good places to start in the U.S? Can you rank them in order of preference? Any others that seem appealing? I'd like to stay away from the stocks surrounding the vaccine since they seem speculative at the moment.
Q: Would you invest in this ETF if you wanted to participate in the EV trend? What would be a good investment for a more conservative investor who does not like to take much risk? Would you prefer a single stock instead? If so, which would you recommend? Thank you for your invaluable service.
Q: Good morning, as a relatively young retired investor I'm still leaning vs growth. As a portfolio year end adjustment I would like to hike my exposure to materials by approx 1%. Having said that my gold exposure has suffered and now sits at less that 3%. I own LUN at 2%. Where would you add ? In real estate I have a 2% in DIR and 1% in TCN.. Would like to add to maybe 5% of portfolio. Dividends are welcome but not a necessity since I can buy in either my Cash or in my RIFF account. New suggestions are welcome since your expertise gave me handsome results since I've subscribed to your services.
Q: I realize that you've never been a big fan of the sector, but AYR Strategies seems to be establishing itself nicely in the US and has received a number of upgrades.
By all means wait until after 2 January before answering and happy holidays to all of you.
Q: I still hold Knight shares. Given that they are now raising some cash would 5I (if they still had them) continue to hold them for a few quarters. They have a significant amount of cash on hand
Is it probable that they are looking at an opportunity.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Clarence.
Q: Retiree with a RRIF. Currently own ENB and PPL. Thinking of adding another energy player. Would you go with KEY or ALA and why. Any other suggestions? ( with decent dividend)
Thank you in advance. Happy New Year.
I have a 2% weighting in technology. I am deploying a lump sum from a real estate sale and so far I've deployed 35% of my total, with 1% each in Kinaxis and Lightspeed, although Lightspeed is now probably a 2% position with its advance. Looking to exchange some money to U.S. dollars and was looking at the Companies above. My target weighting for technology is 14% so I can add a few companies. Which are your favourites? Any others to add to the list?
