Q: I really liked your answer about 'dead money' to Jason's question about riocan today. I'd like to get your impression of other reits: IIP.UN, BPY.UN, CAR.UN, and DIR.UN. Are they like dead money for a while? Are they good buys considering their book value per share is lower or close to their market value or do you think they can go down further? Are there any in this list that you would not recommend?
thanks!

Q: Hello, I received a tendered cash offer of USD $12 (so, about CAN $16) for the units of this security from the corporation for cancellation). The tender deadline is August 26 and there is no date noted for the purchase..

Is there a reason why this offer is not immediately supported by a price hike to CAN $16 (or thereabouts) as $CAN 16 is the floor price in the near term?

Thank you.

Q: I bought BPY:us on a NY Exchange and hold in US$ within an RSP. I also hold BPY.un in C$ withinin a Canadian TFSA. I have substantial losses on both. These losses cannot be offset against capital gains.
BPY (US) and BPY.un have both sent me a cash offer for shares . The issuer offers US$12 or the equivalent in Canadian $. There is no mention of what, if any, accrued dividend would be paid to shareholders/ unitholders.
What would you do on the above-noted offer. Tender shares on one of the accounts , tender both, or neither ?

Q: Greetings 5i team,
I have some cash in two of my accounts and am looking to add to two or more of these companies. In what order would you suggest I might add to these companies? Are there any that you would not add to at this time? For example, CAE and GC have been badly mauled, have not yet recovered, but perhaps I should treat them as a hold?
I realize that these companies vary according to sector, size growth, income and recovery potential making this a challenging question.
Thank you for your work.

Q: Hi Everyone at 5i! I own shares of BPY.un and HR. un. HR cut its dividend but still offers a dividend of over 6%. BPY has a higher dividend which it has not cut yet. I would like to sell off my HR and reinvest in BPY to conglomerate my holdings. Do you think this would be a good move? Cheers, Tamara. PS. I caught Peter’s virtual Money Show presentation today. It was excellent!!! Thank you!!!!
