Q: Hi 5i Team - The guest today on BNN Market call mentioned that Lumine specializes in carve-outs and that is to their advantage. Although he explained it, I'm not sure what carve-outs means and even if I have the correct term. Could you provide more information on this. In addition he felt that the evaluation is quite rich. Do you also feel this way. Also could you provide a summary of Lumine's fundamentals. and if you have any concerns with these fundamentals.
Thanks.

Q: Thinking of starting a position in P&C insurers. Would DFY be a good choice for growth? How has DFY performed since demutualization? Intact is certainly growing great but is it expensive? I already own MFC & SLF would adding a P&C be too concentrated?
Thanks

Q: Hi 5i,
I recently sold Fresh DelMonte Produce/FDP after a nice run up. Apart from Nutrien/NTR I have no other agricultural related stock or ETF.
Could you recommend one or two options (either stock, ETF or both) as a good replacement?
Have to say, bit of a confusing world at the moment?
Much appreciated.
Ralph

Q: You guys at 5 i used to be high on a buy for Celsius Holdings. It bounces up and down 2 to 3 per cent almost daily but the overall trend as been lower highs and lower lows. I don't want to liquidate my position because of the international growth opportunities for Celsius and the possible normalization of inventory levels of their "healthy" energy drinks with their distributor who is Pepsi. But the trend is not my friend for celsius. I have traded it a couple of times to bring down my acb but even that is making me nervous. I don't have much exposure to consumer staple nor consumer discretionary (I assume Celsius is considered to be discretionary?) so if I cut losses with celsius, what should I consider as a replacement?

Q: What would you do with the above 3 stocks if think less AI infrastructure will be needed? Take the money and run? Or did they fall enough that they will be ok even if some orders are lowered or cancelled?

Q: Zoomd Technologies (ZOMD) had an important announcement yesterday about adding several major new clients, including the NBA. The stock has climbed 23% in the 2 trading sessions since. Now close to $100 million market cap. Their software seems to have applications to just about any industry involved in digital advertising. Most recent quarterly financial report was very impressive. Wondering what you think of this company's potential.

Q: Would appreciate your assessment of TRI and INTA. These 2 stocks in the professional services sub-sector appear to be accelerating due to AI. Correct me if I am wrong but do you see increasing TAM attributable to improved service to clients and and reduced costs. Would you have high conviction or less so with this idea? How would you rate these or others in the professional services sub-sector.
More generally, are there other industrial sub-sectors where AI is improving client services and reducing costs. Any other names to suggest.

Q: Hi Peter,

A follow up question on Pinetree. With Shezad Okhai (former VP of Constellation Software Volaris group and previous Chief Investment Officer of Pinetree) coming back effective November 1st, do you think it would be a stretch to look at this company as a quasi Constellation Software VC or PE company. Damien Leonard (CEO) involvement, Pinetree has common stock holdings with Strikwerda BV holdings (connection to Topicus CEO - ie. Trubridge) and the type of verticals software investments in the fund, it looks like there is a lot over lap and synergies with CSU. Or is this a bit of a stretch.

Q: This stock has traded in the 30 plus dollar range this year until recently where it has taken a huge drop to19-20. Im not even sure if it may continue to slide. What's confusing is that it was undervalued in the thirties and now a big drop after a solid q2. Also the short position has recently increased to 29 percent. The shorts got what they wanted. Shouldn't they be covering. I want to buy but feel they might know something with such a huge number. Lastly they just came out with a release saying the price isn't reflected in the value and they will start buying back 43 million dollars worth of shares. Is this a great buying opportunity.
