Q: While I recognize that GM once filed for bankruptcy, but that's been a while now. The company appears to be in a much better position, made inroads into China, has an incredibly low P/E ratio and pays almost a 4.5% dividend. Would you consider this a good US/Auto/Industrial place to park some funds or is there a better place to go for that type of exposure?

Q: Hello Folks:
In reading your answers to previous questions on GILD you recommend the company for it's strong cash position and low valuation, but recommend having the patience of a 2 year outlook. I have owned GILD for several years and not done very well as of late. Being I am 70 yrs. old should I hang in with GILD or move into another health related company? I have a full position with Johnson & Johnson, but am unaware of other very good health care options. I am not a frequent trader, tending to hold mostly American blue-chip companies, and welcome your advice...I greatly appreciate your good service!

Q: I have a modest position in this company in my margin acct, what are your thoughts as to their future prospects..I purchased it at lower levels a little over a year ago so am doing ok as far as the dividend goes.
If I was to sell ( 2017 ) I would be looking to reinvest in a Canadian stock.

Q: What are your thoughts relative to this stock. Have some US cash to invest - approx $10,000? Looking for decent dividend and future growth. If not this stock, what other stock would you suggest.
Q: I am interested in increasing my exposure to the US through ETF's. I currently hold some IWO and VIG. I am wondering if I should just add to those or are there 1-2 others that would round out my exposure. I am wondering about industrials and banks for example. Thanks
Q: Could you recommend and ETF for the US big banks ? Thanks again.
Q: I have owned CMI for a number of years and wondering if there may be better options in this sector. I previously owned CAT but gave them up a couple of years ago. I also own BA,GE & UTX in this sector.
Thanks so much

Q: I wish to buy this stock and have cash in both my rsp account and my non registered account. Is there an advantage to holding it in one vs the other? Can I avoid dividend withholding tax by putting it in my rsp? Thank you, Bill

Q: Hello 5i team,
Recently a member asked about core american stocks to hold and you mentionned, amongst others, GE and JNJ, I believe.
I was wondering what would the best mix of American stocks be for a buy and hold investor who has a portfolio of about 30 stocks total.
Here are the ones I hold currently and my question is whether they make a good core holding?
Also, i plan to add JNJ and GE to this mix. Being large cap stocks, is there much advantage in buying these over times in several slices, or better to buy a full complement right away?
Here are the ones I hold, which I mentionned:
3M
Apple
Conagra foods
Ibm
Procter and Gamble
Pepsi
thanks once again for the great service!

Q: I would like to increase my exposure (at the understood risk of return chasing) to US industrials and defence companies that seem set to rally under the new regime in the White House. I would like to do this without paying the punitive buy/sell exchange rates offered by my bank. Does the above mentioned ETF look ok to you? Any others that you would recommend? I would be interested in ones with some exposure to steel/base metals/US financials too.
Q: Please, any comments on MIC-N this is for my US account.
