Q: From 1-5, how would you rank the FAANG stocks on growth prospects over the next 5 years? How would you rank them on risk profile over the same 5 year period?
Great website.
Thanks
Q: Re the question on why Facebook shares dropped, here is the probable answer
Facebook (FB) shares dove Monday as Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg revealed plans late Friday to nix the creation of a new class of shares and to also sell a big chunk of stock
As part of that plan, a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission late Friday said that Zuckerberg anticipates selling 35 million to 75 million shares of Facebook stock over approximately 18 months "in order to fund the philanthropic initiatives of Mr. Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, in education, science and advocacy."
Q: I was surprised at the extent to which Facebook dropped yesterday on no company-specific news. I don't recall a worse day in a long time. I know the Nasdaq took a hit but Facebook was harder hit than anyone other than the stocks which had prices in the stratosphere. It is generally not that volatile a stock. Certainly it's less volatile than Amazon or even Alphabet, and has a lower PEG ratio than either. Yet they fared far better yesterday. Alphabet was down .81% while Facebook dropped 4.5%. Is there something else at work I'm not seeing? Perhaps a huge block of trades from someone exiting the position? I do want to have tech exposure but not if a stock is going to be one everyone will hit the sell trigger on for the slightest reason.
Q: I am looking into investing in this co or something that does the same job as WDC . My time frame is 2 years . I am looking to put into my tfca acct . Is div safe? Thanks.Alnoor
Q: Can you please address the issues plaguing Allergan at the moment? What is behind its momentous drop in share price over the past few weeks? I currently own a 2.5% position. Would you feel comfortable adding more on weakness. Would you buy today?
Thx
Karim
Q: NWL has declined sharply in recent weeks due to (1) Hurricane Harvey on its U.S. manufactured resin businesses, and (2) bankruptcy proceeding of Toys R Us, which NWL is one of their top suppliers. NWL has issued revised 2017 guidance due to the impact of Harvey but, in my opinion, it's not material. Is the selloff overblown? Is it a good entry point now, or is it catching a falling knife? Welcome your thoughts. Thank you.
Q: Hi team, which of these 2 fin tech stocks do you prefer today, they have both had big run ups, do you think they are ok to buy into now?I am thinking to add to my RRSP.
Thanks
Q: Nvda seems like it is shooting for the stars..is it still a buy at these levels. What are your thoughts on buying AMD or intc instead. Thanks. Shyam
Q: Good Day 5I. I`m glad I didn't sell this stock when it dropped down to 10.00 1 month ago. I Know there has been some good news with new contracts and the possible sale of its technology division but does this explain the surge in the past month of over 50%? Are Options Traders Betting on a Big Move in Chicago Bridge & Iron (CBI) Stock?
Thx/Rob
Q: In resubmitting my question because my browser went cold and not sure my submission went through.
Would you take up a position on equifax today? Smell position, 1.5 % or so? Do you see any merits to this? I'm thinking there could possibly be a sharp partial recovery. Please advise.
Q: What are your general thoughts on Sonic Corp, a fast food drive in restaurant company, 3,557 locations in the Southern US. Lots of burgers, hot dogs, etc. I like the space, what are your thoughts? Thank you!
Q: I hold shares in Rockwell Collins. Recently the company agreed to a friendly takeover by United Technologies . The takeover is worth $140 to COL shareholders via a combination of cash and UTX shares. There is a 7.5% collar in place. Since the deal was announced the shares in COL jumped to the $130 range and have remained there. Is the $10 discrepancy due to the collar ,or is there a good opportunity here to make $10/share on an additional purchase of COL.?
I have a position on NOC for a couple of years. It's spare price has gone up by about 75% since and now accounts for about 4% of my portfolio.
Morning Star just downgraded NOC to 3 stars today. Just wondering whether is it time for me to bail on NOC or at least take some money off the . Also how much stock should an investor put in such rating changes (whether up or down) in general.
Q: Could I have your views on these 3 funds from TD. Seems to be pretty good performers on a ytd to 15 year returns. Fees seem to be quite reasonable for those 3 funds.
Q: Further to Robert's question, and for my learning, what are the implications of such a large short bet on a good company that is performing well? Will there be a 'short covering' rush that will spike the price? What are the possibilities and likelihoods for short term movements of this stock? Thanks for your help!
Q: I am interested in the ZWH or ZWH.U for a registered account. Is effectively the only real difference in these 2 the fact that distributions are paid out and converted to CAD for ZWH whereas the distributions for ZWH.U are paid in USD? While ZWH is "held" in CAD it would be fully impacted by FX movements. Thanks
