Q: Hello 5i
The question on OGN was in October.
It has been on a good run the last eight months. Can I have a current assessment please?
Thank you
Dave
Q: Cipher Pharma made a major acquisition today that they say will double their sales and profits. The new products acquired are also superior to the existing treatment, which has 71% of the USA market, so lots of room there for growth, plus they plan to get approval in Canada and make a deal for ex-North America sales. They also have their drug for toenail fungus, a big market, set to produce final results in about 6 months, with sales expected starting in 2026. This looks like a good growth stock to me, trading at a cheap valuation, given the profit from the new products, and I am wondering what your take is on the acquisition and the stock.
Q: What are your thoughts on Edwards LifeSciences (EW) in light of the punishment it’s receiving today in the market? It’s down 29% at the time of writing (July 25). Is the reaction unjustified and a buying opportunity?
Q: Hello 5i: I ask about LLY with the big drop today caused by the Viking Therapeutics announcement. I will appreciate your comments. Sincerely. Barbara
Q: Hello, SPRY is a company developing an alternative treatment for anaphylaxis treatment. I am wondering about the team's thoughts on its current valuation and if it seems reasonable given the company's prospects. Also given favorable inflation data continuing, could this small-cap have good price appreciation potential with lowering interest rates?
Thank you.
Q: I'm looking for more momentum in the healthcare sector for the next 3-5 years, at least. I am a long term investor. I currently have ABBV and SYK but am thinking about moving on and buying LLY and ISRG as replacements. Are you still bullish on both LLY and ISRG, and do you think that such a switch makes sense in this market? Thank you!
Q: Lly has been hit hard last few days presumably as a result of news that a competitor has another weight loss drug in the works. Is the sell off over done in your view? Would you continue to hold? Thanks.
Q: Were I to invest in a Growth/Income pairing of healthcare stocks, would you recommend XLV/THQ or XLV/LIFE? I am currently very happy with my XLV/LIFE combination but would appreciate your input re: the use of THQ...
Best regards,
David
Q: You recently recommended LLY as a buy at $850/875. Today it is trading at $838. Any sense of why it has been dropping so much lately, and would you recommend a buy at current prices?
I am curious about your thoughts with regards to MindMed (MNMD). They are a US biotech that is involved with clinically supervised psychedelic therapy for PTSD, anxiety, etc.
Promising research has come out of Johns Hopkins led by Roland Griffiths. Public trust still needs to be ascertained, however, even if trust seems to be waning slowly with conventional medicine.
Would this be a holding that you expect to do well in the long term?
Any other non-conventional biotech firms that show promise?
Q: Aside from LLY and NVO, what other healthcare companies might enjoy success with weight loss drugs or products related to them? I’ve heard good things about ABT., AMGN, PFE, AZN, RHHBY and others in this regard, but I was wondering how you might rank them and/or others (most promising names first). I’m quite interested in Roche which has been showing strength after a long period of weakness (it’s now $35.69 as of Friday July 12).
Q: ETN is a theme play that is on the move. I'm thinking of selling UNH (considered defensive) and buying ETN even though it is more cyclical in nature. Other healthcare names held are ABBV, ABT, BSX, ISRQ, LLY (starting position), and SYK. Currently, health care makes up 9.71% of the total portfolio compared to industrial at 19.12%......What do you say about this stock change? And other suggestions are most welcomed!.....Tom
Q: Good morning. Looking at my U.S. holdings and noticed it's a down day for these 2 great firms. Went looking for any news but nothing specific found. Have I missed something or is this kind of an inverse Trump trade if he's elected? Your input is appreciated. Thank you. David
