Q: Please help me out. One of the metrics I find very important is ROE or return on equity. When I look this up look this up on 5i’s site under profile I get an ROE of 128% however when I look at the April 25/24 report it shows 2%? The current Morningstar Quant Report shows 3.99%. So 1st. question is does 5i consider ROE to be an important metric?
Secondly how can I get an accurate measurement?
Thanks

Q: Good Evening

1. In buying and selling stocks how much weight one should place on technical analysis ?
With respect to BAM, a broker's technical analysis section indicated, on March 7/2025, that this security could drop to a range of 50-54. The event on March 7/2025 was described as "Megaphone Top".

2. Is there any explanation as to why BAM dropped 23% from its peak while the TSX dropped only 7% as of today ? Do you recommend adding at this level or holding ?
I will appreciate as always your insight.

Q: SHOP has received some so-so analyst ratings recently. Some are buys and some are hold and sell. I know 5i likes SHOP. But if you had to put a bad report together on SHOP, what would be the negatives that would result in a poor rating. I guess I'm asking what does one have to worry about specifically with SHOP?

Q: HI Peter,
Would you continue to dollar cost average into Dollarama at $164+? Or do you think it's fully valued? The investing site I use for company historical data shows the current PE as 38.3 (high) and in between the 38.3 and 20.9 for the last 10 years. The forward PE for the next 2 years as 36.3 and 32.5. We've been slowly DCAing and it's worked out OK thus far. Thanks for stellar advice during these tumultuous times.

Q: This company seems exempt from much tariff impact according to their recent press release and since they're continuing to expand their manufacturing capabilities and growing into new US markets - how do you view this company going forward?

It seems expensive on a PE basis but wondering your thoughts.

Also - do you know when this company reports and the outlook for earnings?

Q: Greetings 5i team,
I hold the securities listed above, as well as a couple of more stable ETFs and some cash in my TFSA. I am aware that things are going to be volatile at least for the near future but am wondering in what order an investor might deploy cash to any of these securities given the correction we are experiencing.
Thank you
