Q: With yesterday’s drubbing following their results release, I have about a $12k capital loss on my TD non-registered holdings. I am an income investor and TD’s next ex-dividend date is Jan 10. If I sold my shares today, I could then repurchase them as early as Jan 6 and not put the loss at risk….correct? I have gains across pretty much all the rest of my holdings so picking up the loss now vs the potential price increase over the next 30 days seems an ok risk….do you agree?

Q: Please let me know your thoughts on the growth recovery in the USA, if any, on TD in 2025. I am considering selling TD for a tax loss and repurchasing it over a few months.
Thank you,

Q: I have owned GSY for a good number of years and it has been very profitable over the long term. The share price turned negative at the end of July 2024, with a bigger set back in mid October. Many analysts have a positive outlook, though Morningstar has a price target of $152 (about 10% below its current share price) and CFRA recommends selling. The CEO is on his way out. Its last earnings results seemed quite strong, yet the share price continued to decline, and forward estimates seem to be lower.
While my patience is being tested, I am mindful you have observed that one should assess a stock's performance over the long term ie over a number of years, not just a couple of quarters.
But everything is relative....is there a better place for my investment dollars, or would you hang in? Do you see any catalyst that will turn this ship around?
Many thanks for your excellent service.

Q: I have a small position in EQB would you be in favour of buying more with the recent news ?
Thanks

Q: At what price point would you be a buyer of TD for a long term hold? And do you think given the current difficulties, the dividend will hold/grow?
Q: Your take on the latest quarter please
Q: First off thanks for encouraging me in June to take a position in TKN
I'm up 33% in 6 months, so quite happy. Question is do you see TKN as a good medium to long term hold going forward?
Thanks for the help

Q: Could you please comment on NA's earnings report? What does the market not like about it?
It's disappointing that Scotia Bank has for the second year now not raised its dividend.
Comparing stock charts of BNS to NA over any period, be it 5, 10 or 20 years, NA has consistently outperformed by a long shot. Would you find a switch from BNS to NA problematic (other than the "bigger, safer.....")?

Q: Hello team,
What is your view on Canadian Banks at this point? The PE ratios seem to be on the high side according to yahoo.. Also, can you comment on Descartes Systems earnings .. the outlook does not seem to be positive given potential tariffs that could be slapped on with new administration.. is it still a buy? Thanks very much

Q: I own both of these and they are now about 12% of my account. Given the uncertainty of the rate cap rumors I am thinking it might be a good time to reduce this to 5-6%. Trim both or sell one? Which one is the most likely sell candidate?
Thanks folks
Thanks folks
Q: Morning, what are your latest thoughts on AFRM, the recent quarter and potential going forward? Management is strong, profitability is around the corner, recession fears are abating... Is the debt an issue? Would you be bullish on the company now?

Q: Looking at the chart of Propel. Since June 2024 consistent new monthly highs (of course with profit taking pull backs). But since the early November highs, the trend has changed, lower highs etc. this looks like a topping pattern to me. (I would say if it cannot break 40 very soon it is time to get out). While, of course, there can be many reasons for investors losing interest in a stock, the timing of the apparent reversal with the U.S. election seems too coincidental. May I ask as to whether 5i is aware of anything in the Propel business model which could be negatively affected by the Trump election? I am thinking maybe tariffs and their effect on interest rates etc.
Thanks as always
Neil

Q: I see that financial yield is being used as a evaluation metric on GSY. Can you please explain how this valuation is used as compared to say more traditional measures such as; ROE, EBITDA, etc. Thx Steve
