Q: Recently Veritas’ D.Souza cut most of the big canadian banks to sell. Could I have forward P/E for each of them? I doubt it, but do you agree with M. D’Souza that the banks are a bit overpriced looking at 2023?

What do you think of major drilling group? For banks like TD and telecoms such as BCE, when would one consider them to be over valued? Would be mostly based on PE ratios and if so, what would considered a high PE ratio for banks or telecoms to be considered in over value territory? Thank you.

Q: Further to Cal's question on taxation of the BAMR to BAM.A exchange: the BAMR website states the following:

The exchange would be considered a disposition of the Class A Share of BAM Re. A Canadian resident shareholder who disposes of a share of BAM Re via an exchange would recognize gain or loss equal to the difference between the fair market value of the BAM shares received (at the time of the exchange) and the adjusted cost basis (“ACB”) of the BAM Re Class A shares exchanged.

Q: DND has taken on debt for acquisitions. Is there a legitimate concern that anticipated profit may not materialize, setting up a potential death spiral for the company? Quite separate from the general tech meltdown, would this concern explain some of the profound share weakness in the past few weeks? We have seen this scenario play out with other Canadian companies that over-payed for acquisitions that did not generate the anticipated profit, costing equity holders dearly.

Q: I own CSU and TOI but I’m looking at TIXT for a bit of diversity. With CSU still owning TOI shares anyway (I think), would you switch TOI for TIXT now that they’ve both fallen or stand pat? Thanks

Q: Further to Denise's question, and Patricia and 5i's comments on flow-through shares, I thought I would add that there's a place called Bertov Capital Corporation and MLC Financial that sell flow-through shares that purport to eliminate all investment risk by disposing of the flow-through shares in a relatively short period of time and guarantees their tax benefits. I have no affiliation, and have never bought flow-through shares, but I thought that was interesting and was worth sharing.
