Q: In today's Wall Street Journal (Heard on the Street column), it suggested that one of the consequences of the blocking of Russian Central Bank reserves is that governments may rethink their position that US dollar or all money as an asset and will likely increase their gold holdings in a material way as the only true store of value.
If this is a trend then gold and gold shares should make great investments.

Q: Will the millions invested into Russia's main 3 oil and gas companies by Manulife,Power Corp,Cibc,BMO,Rbc,Sunlife impact future earnings or maybe some can come back to Canada.
Q: I'm confused, because I've received two T5008 (statement of securities transactions) forms in relation to two stocks moved from one registered account (RIF) to another (TFSA) . All withdrawals from RIF (including the value of these stocks) are included in my income for 2021.
Why am I getting these forms - which seem to double count income ?

Q: Hi
Thinking of selling ICLN I am down 21% and replacing it with VDE.
Why!! I think the clean air flavor of the month is dead for a while and want the ride oil shortage.
Also METV still not show the intraday price on my Portfolio Analysis.
Thank you
Mike

Q: Can you please comment on DBM's recent quarter. Was it as bad as the market is suggesting? Was it's forward guidance strong? With a yield of over 7% and some growth opportunity does it offer a decent risk/reward?
Q: Can you please comment on this company. The stock keeps falling while the company is ready to launch their new SUV. There is a news that it is heavily shorted off-exchange (dark pool). Is this even possible?
Q: Surge reports soon. What are the expectations?
Have their hedges expired?
Thanks.

Q: Hello. I don't understand what happened with these stocks. I'd held almost a full position on hr.un for about a year. A couple of months ago they made some kind of move and I was awarded pmz.un stocks. Suddenly I showed about a 20% loss on my hr.un holdings which is pretty well equal to the current value of my PMZ holding. I'm wondering if I should sell both and re-invest in better real estate stocks or sell one or the other and put all the proceeds into just one of these companies? Thanks.
Q: Hello 5i,
Eric Nuttal has put an energy income fund together which will begin to trade on March7. Do you have any information on this fund and what his fees for running it will be?
Thanks as always. Cheers

Q: Greetings- Your thoughts on WPK recent quarter, please.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Hi,
I am puzzled by Intact's jump in price today, it isn't earnings related, but seems rather significant. Also, given that they have just issued preferred's at 5.25%, would you rate these as a good addition to a diversified portfolio looking to add a lower volatility holding for income? Thanks for your valued thoughts.

Q: I own some Shell and BP shares. I heard that Shell is planning to unload a lot of its Russian assets and may take a massive accounting hit. BP also has a lot of Russian interests. Should I be thinking of selling Shell and BP, given these risks? I was thinking of holding on to them for the longer term, but all this Russian uncertainty has given me second thoughts. Can you comment?
Q: Can you please comment on earnings. Was there anything that stood out in the conference call (either good or bad). Portfolio Analytics notes I should increase my exposure to consumer defensive and US holdings. Would you recommend starting a position in COST within an RRSP? Lastly, from an educational stand point, what metrics/factors (financial and non-financial) are good to look at when exploring/assessing a business such as Costco.
Q: Why is gsy being punished so badly today?
Q: Good day, 5i. Can you see a reason for the sudden decline in share price for Sleep Country? It's earning seemed fine, and the stock went up on news. I think they are buying back shares. Thanks for your insight.

Q: I am a retired investor and rely upon the dividends in my RRIF for income. I have owned FSZ for many years and while it pays a nice dividend (8%) it has not grown, in fact its down since I purchased it. I want to replace it.
The listed stocks pay dividends ranging from 3.9% to 5.1%. My question is which of the stocks would make a good replacement with the dividend and growth profile that will exceed the dividend of FSZ. Please list with the best first and also indicate if the risk is higher or lower than FSZ.
I have been a member for a few years now and would like to congratulate you on your service and unbiased answers. It definitely has been financially rewarding for me.
