Q: Hi
I was wondering your thoughts on BMO and its sale of branches to First Citizens Bank. What do you think of the transaction, any issues with BMO's credit quality (does this improve), is there an overhang on the stock with the pending deal and timing of the close. Overall - is BMO more attractive after this announcement and do you view it as a buy, sell or hold.

Q: Is this a good buy right now for a 5 year hold, and what is their dividend %.
Thanks

Q: I can find no references in Questions to this company but I am sure it once downplayed as too small and speculative. Since then the company has received a NASDQ listing and gone from $3 to a recent high of $20.75. Do you have any comments on this company.

Q: Good Day,
With the end of the year approaching and the US poking the tarriff bear again (pun... intended?), do you see more selling/profit taking coming in the end of the year?
It seems many names have either been hit by these latest developments, have unsubstantiated short report attacks, or have no news declines. What are some of your favourite names right now that have solid outlooks/execution and some real potential for strong recovery? Say 10 names, mix of Canada and US with attractive entry prices?
Secondly, what would be your main buy targets likely to see tax loss selling? What would be an attractive entry price for them?
No need for megacap names, I'm well represented there.
Thanks!
James

Q: I would be very interested in 5i’s take on this NYT article. I try to stay away from the fear mongering, be wise and buy/hold good companies. I trust 5i after being a member from the beginning, and always come back here for an opinion, because there are too many opinions out there, and a person has to land somewhere or it’s too hard to navigate. I think we can all agree there is a correction coming sometime, and likely it’s necessary, but a 1929 type event? Please offer your ideas. Thanks! https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/13/magazine/investing-private-equity-crypto-crash-1929.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare

Q: Hi 5i
Current holder of TMQ for about 1 year and see its up about 45% this morning . What the heck is going on? Would you continue you to hold at these levels ? Does its future look brighter today or is this unbridled speculation?
thx

Q: Two part question:
What are the major differences between these two covered call utilities etf's? Wondering why/how UMAX has ~2X dividend yield?
Would it be possible to suggest equivalent covered call etf(s) for US market?
Thank you.

Q: I have a 16% position in the GRNY etf which I recognize as higher risk however it does hold 30 plus equities with a tech tilt but with a level of diversity so that my view is I hold approximately one-half of 1% of each equity. Am considering adding perhaps a 2% holding of Gene Munster's LOUP etf which doesn't show up in your system but has been around for 7 years. Could you provide your opinion of LOUP as a 3 year hold with regard to its approach to equity selection, the current holdings, its performance, its level of risk, and whether you would buy it as a worthwhile high growth potential etf. Do you like it?

Q: Hi,
Do you see these sectors (nuclear, quantum, and bitcoin/compute mining) in a bubble? Every few days I see some names in these areas up over 15-20% and many have more than 3-4X. I know they are more on the aggressive risk spectrum, would you be chasing any of these? If you had to pick a few that are worth investing in currently or on pullbacks, which ones would they be? Or are they more speculative trading stocks vs real long term profitable names? Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

Q: Hi Team,
If the AI bubble bursts, what stocks do you think could still hold up? Could I get three ideas, please?
Friday’s market was rough — even the non-AI names took a hit.
Thanks!

Q: I have a smallish position in GSY which I should probably either Add to or Sell after one or more quarters. The recent Reports on GSY and PRL got me looking at longer term performance of both companies. The Report states that GSY has grown EPS at > 28% per year for a decade. However, most of that earnings growth occurred 5+ years ago. Annual EPS since 2021 is only up approx 15% - not per year but in total over 4 years. Over the same period revenue has doubled. Can you comment on why EPS growth has lagged revenue growth over the mid-term, and if/when those issues might be behind them?
GSY being much larger than PRL may be a factor. GSY has issued new equity over the period but the amount does not seem to be significant. PRL over the same 4yr period has tripled revenue, with EPS up almost 7x.

Q: I am looking at the growth of EPS at Amazon since the beginning of 2020. It has grown tremendously, especially since it bottomed in Q4 2022 but the stock price does not appear to followed suit. Amazon is trading at a much lower P/E than in the past and the stock price is slightly down YTD, with the S&P up in the low double digits YTD (alongside most other Mag7 stocks (aside from Apple) being up in the high signal or double digits YTD). Any reason why Amazon is trailing the other Mag7? Is this a good time to buy Amazon? Their R&D investments are mind boggling. I have to believe that the stock price will eventually turn around? Would you be a buyer? Thoughts? (Putting aside the AWS disappointment last quarter, is it also possible that Amazon is being repriced so that its P/E and forward P/E better align with some of the other Mag7 stocks.)
