Q: Could you please on this morning's press release
Q: Canadian telecom stocks have not been performing well recently.
1 ) Are Canadian telecoms strictly comparable to U.S. counterparts like VZ which has also not performed well but appears to trade more cheaply and with a higher dividend .
2) And if they are comparable , might that suggest that the Canadian companies could play catch-up to the downside ?
Thanks

Q: There is a news item that GIB.A has been awarded a contract to produce a "virtual flight data recorder". This sounds exactly like what FLY has been trying to sell for years but it never really got off the ground (sorry). Do you see GIB.A fairing better and what are the implications for FLY.
Thanks

Q: I was wondering why Telus seems to be underperforming right now.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: I'm reviewing my portfolio to evaluate if there are any names i've held for a few years which haven't done much or i'm down on, and may be candidates to be sold and replaced with growthier names that have become more attractive. The 2 names that meet the criteria are VEEV and PGNY. With a focus on growth do you think either of these names should be sold and replaced or are they holds? Thx

Q: Hello 5i Team
Reviewing the publicly listed mortgage investment corporations (MIC) on the TSX and TSXV.
1 - Are there any others listed on exchange(s) other than the five listed?
2 - Is Builders Capital Mortgage Mortgage too small (~$19M market cap) for consideration?
3 - What is the best metric to compare MICs - price to earnings / price to book / others?
4- What would be your ranking - best to worst?
5 - Any other considerations?
Thank you

Q: With the rush to electrify economies, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, many Co.'s will experience strong growth over the next several years. Can you provide a list of 6-8 Co.'s with strong fundamentals, that trade in Canada, from various affected sectors that you feel stand to benefit by this coming move to electrification. Please rank them from best growth prospects to least. Thank you and please take as many credits as required. ...Will

Q: Good morning 5i
Just a clarification on your covered call strategy that you mentioned today. You said that if called away, say, at $45 you would immediately sell a put for $45 for about a month out. One of the reasons for this i imagine is that you think the stock has the wind in its sails. Right? Also, how would this strategy affect the superficial loss rule. I don’t imagine you would be seen as buying the stock within 30 days?
Thanks

Q: You have like this Reit in the past, but recently I have read it has high debt and was not recommended (in this particular article). Do you still like it, and what would be a good entry point if you were to buy it. I have a small position and am not sure whether I should add to it or not. Thanks.
Q: Retired, dividend-income investor. I am looking at topping up existing positions in BCE, BNS, TRP over the next 1-3 months, as funds become available.
Please rank them in order of :
a) Value (based on where their P/E (or whatever the appropriate metric) is currently vs over time),
b) Potential capital upside.
Any thoughts on technicals and seasonality would be appreciated.
My own thoughts are to add to TRP first, then BNS, then lastly BCE.
Thanks for your help....Steve

Q: Hi 5i,
I plan on purchasing these 4 companies to cover off my exposure to the US markets.
What is your opinion of this portfolio? Any other addition?
Weighting in the Portfolio is a consideration, so I only have 4 positions.
Is now a good time to start accumulating, and it what order?
Thanks for the opinion.

Q: Why are they consolidating the shares? They are nowhere near a delisting price.
Why do you think the market is unphased by the yield reduction. Even an anticipated cut almost always creates a drop. Occasionally a boost of course.

Q: Hello. I am looking for some advice on preferred shares. Given the current situation of rising interest rates, which type of preferred shares (reset, perpetual, or floating) should I buy to maximize my dividend income and capital appreciation in the future? Thank you.
