Q: Hi,
Im a young, passive investor. Im looking for long term strong TFSA growth to eventually convert into TFSA retirement income. I am new to investing and don't really have a grasp on all the concepts yet.
Can you offer an opinion/advice/education on the pros and cons of investing in ETFs that are Canadian dollar hedged vs. non. Which you you recommend for long term consistent and strong growth.? The two listed are what Im thinking for gaining some US exposure, unless you are able to recommend something better?
Q: Hi,
I have an investment horizon of 10-12 years and I am wanting to use mostly ETF's for the next 5-7 years for sure. - Can you recommend a website or book that I can find ETF's in all of the Asset classes you have identified in your model portfolios. I own CDZ now but I am hoping to hold about 7-10 more ETF's.
Q: is this a decent financial with upside or is it dead money.what other small financial would be a better choice long term.i also own home capital already

Q: Your income portfolio shows this REIT to have a yield of 5.5%. Not bad in today's low interest rate environment. It seems that reits are trading at historically low yields. How high do you think the yield on ZRE or reits in general wowuld go if interest rates eventually normalize? For bonds, I would simply use the duration to calculate the price risk, but reits do not have a fixed term, even though they are ofter referred to as "bond proxies". Can you provide some insight into how high reit yields could go if interest rates were to normalize?
I really appreciate your work.
Thanks,
Q: Somehow I left out the name of the company the first time I asked. Could you please give me your opinion on Crius Energy Trust. It was featured in a very favorable write-up by Jennifer Dowty on breakout stocks in Wednesday's (May 11) Globe. Thanks Ross
Q: Hello 5i Can I get your analysis on Canadian Tire. I never see it as one of your picks in the consumer sector and yet seems to be on a constant trend up hitting new highs again today. Do you see this as a growth story for a 2-4 yr hold.
Q: Both companies reported recently and a commonality between the two was that the margins were slimmer. Is this the result of competition within the industry, meaning that the infrastructure story may be a bit overblown, weakness still in the industrial sector (Bird Construction sales declined here as well), from the Canadian dollar strengthening last quarter or is this simply life in the construction industry and we should stay the course?
Could you provide some financial details about a US stock Lending Club(LC)? The business model looks interesting and have good potential but just don't know how high is the risk and is it worth to buy at this price level?
Q: Hi, looks like, Boyd Group had another strong quarter. Could you please comment on the earnings release ? There was a mention of softness in Q2, due to warm weather. Should it be a concern ? Thanks
Q: Over the past few months ZLB is no longer outperforming the others. I would like to pool these funds, add some cash to bring it to 5% of my holdings and invest it into a good conservative ETF. Please comment. Thank you.
Q: Could i please have your opinion and ranking on the following gas weighted companies. Would this be a realistic time for an investment in one or two of these companies or is there still alot of downside risk. Thanks
