Q: With the steep sell-off recently and stock markets coming to terms with a global trade war, which five Canadian and/or US small to mid-cap growth stocks across any sector look most interesting at this point? Looking at starting partial positions as I do not think the bottom is here yet. Thank you

Q: I am, as you put it, sharpening my pencil. Can you comment a bit on the above three companies. How much overlap is there? Which is the one you would rank the lowest of the three? Leaving aside stable mega caps, for the agressive side of my tech holding, are there any others that you would rank in the top 5 to start looking at that are better or roughly in the same class as these? Q: Hi,
I've been very careful in the last year with stock market at all time high and I've been building a relatively high position in utilities in my portfolio and I am clearly overweight in utilities. I know that timing the market perfectly is impossible but at what point in time would you suggest to start unloading utilities? Do you think that there is still some upside in these names due the Tariffs and the associated panic in the market? If you had 3 companies to sell now in my list which companies would you unload first. Thank you!

Q: With the April 8th deadline for China, will that be damaging for the market?

Q: After the recent drop what do you think of Dupont for the next five years? Are there other stocks in this category you like more?

Q: What would you do with DuPont right now after it was announced today it is being investigated in China. Can a person hold through this turmoil or time to sell before it gets worse?

Q: During his appearance on BBN in November Peter's top picks were CLBT, ROAD, and FOUR.

These are all down substantially since the show.

Did Peter hold those 3 in his actively managed fund when appearing on BNN? Does he still have any or some of them in his fund today?

Q: I just noticed (better late than never) that you sold your full position in Stantec in your model GROWTH portfolio in February. How come? Any concerns with the company?

Q: Only within the last two months we were at record highs, now we’re in a bear marker for the Nasdaq and S&P nearing one. Futures are selling off again here Sunday night. US administration is digging the heels in on these tariffs.

What are your thoughts on the Trump and Fed put? If they don’t change course soon, the economy is going into a recession and midterms next year will be ugly for the GOP. Looking back at all previous crises, what do you think will happen in the next 6-12 months and what’s the game plan? VIX at these levels and large consecutive down days have resulted in nice future returns 1,3,5 years out. Let’s say you had 100k to invest now, how would you deploy over the upcoming weekly or monthly interval? Which 5 CDN and 5 US stocks would you continue to buy on any weakness, assuming only market related? Thank you!

Thanks for the detailed and quality answers during these "interesting" times. I know predictions are pretty much "off the table", but ... I wonder if you could ponder the chance over the next few years of a dividend cut at the Banks. (1 = impossible, 10 = possible if things get really bad).
Knowing that such an action would be a very tuff call for the banks to make. All Canadian banks in general, but specifically TD and BNS (which are some of my TSFA holdings and used to generate retirement dividend revenue.

Q: Greetings 5i team,
I hold the securities listed above, as well as a couple of more stable ETFs and some cash in my TFSA. I am aware that things are going to be volatile at least for the near future but am wondering in what order an investor might deploy cash to any of these securities given the correction we are experiencing.
