Q: Has the limit for TFSAs officially been reduced? If not I suppose we could transfer $10,000 over tomorrow, could we not? Could we be penalized? Thanks!

Q: Happy New Year to friends at 5i Reasearch. In a tough year my portfolio held its own with your help. I paid attention to the flow of information, dumped some of the losers early move a bit more to income from the 50/50 income equity split and came out ahead drawing some income at the same time. It would not have happened without significant input from you. So Happy New Year! And looking forward to 2016.

Q: I am down 18% on this fund, should I continue to hold or is there a better fund or ETF for income? If I hold Hex and continue to collect the dividend do you think the price will recover when oil and the economy eventually recovers?

Q: XEU-T is about 3% of my portfolio, other Europe equities about 2%. I am looking to add 1 or 2% to the sector.
RWE.B seems to screen well. Would you take a position in RWE.B or simply add to XEU?
I'm okay with unhedged currency for now.
Thank You, and all the Best for 2016.

Q: Peter and Team,

This is a follow up to my previous question regarding RQD and RQE. Is the value per unit paid out at Maturity the Par value (for RQD, this is indicated as $18.50)?

If so, and if holding to maturity, one would then want to consider current price versus Par value, correct?

Q: I have no investment in any of these three companies, KXS; DSG and ESL (Kinaxis, enghouse and descartes). In your opinion, which of these three is cheaper or has the greatest potential for a three year holding?

Q: Hello Peter, for someone with an RRSP, a TFSA and a non-registered account, and who wants to invest in some higher risk stocks, I believe the TFSA is the place to do it. I trust you agree?
Last year, my higher risk pick for my TFSA was, sadly, Guestlogix. I'd like to improve my batting average and am considering CXI. Would you support this stock, at its current price, for a long-term TFSA hold? And could you please add a second choice.
Secondly, I'm trying to build a 'blue chip' portfolio in my non-registered account. So far, it holds TELUS and Enbridge. Can you suggest another two good choices for long-term holds?
Thanks always, and please dock me whatever number of questions is warranted. James

Q: Hi Team
Thanks for great support and happy New Year.
I am 72 years old and dependant on income from my investment. This year a loss on energy stocks. Last week I sold DOL and even ENB, to keep the profit. Now I have about 50% in cash and need to reinvest. I am thinking of selling Magna (already lost 16%) Loblaws and EFN, as they don't seem to get anywhere. Do you have any suggestions for growth stocks with dividend?
Thanks
Margita

Q: Temple Hotels announced on Dec 23 that Morguard had purchased another 7 million shares of Temple Hotels at an average cost of $1.07 thru a private share purchase agreement and this was completed with less than 5 vendors. Who would sell that quantity of stock at these prices?

Morguard now owns 39.45% after taking into account the convertible debentures.

They also announced they would be would be taking over the asset management of Templeton from Shelter Canadian Properties Limited.

It seems that Morguard is taking control of this company and was wondering if you could add provide comments on what is taking place at Temple Hotels.
