Q: DIV recently announced a dividend increase, which they say has a pay-out ratio of 92%. I am a bit confused here as it seems like an odd time to do this. Your thoughts on the increase and on the safety of the dividend moving forward are appreciated. Thank-you.

Q: With the Fed raising rates and their commitment to tackle inflation the US dollar has been on quite a tear lately. Can you name the top three companies from your balanced portfolio that would be the most positively impacted by the strengthening US dollar as well as the three that would be the most negatively impacted.

Q: Retired, dividend-income investor. I own a full position in NNRG in my TFSA account.
I am looking to add an energy income ETF in my wife's Cash account. Because I am a huge Eric fan, I had naturally gravitated to NRGI, not even thinking there might be other alternatives to his income ETF. The question earlier today related to ENCC woke me up.
Could you please list some Energy Income ETFs that you think I should consider. I will then do some of my own research on each of your candidates. Is there one that stands out as head-and-shoulders above the rest?
NRGI is roughly 85% USA stocks. whereas ENCC appears to be very heavy (90%) to Canadian. Does this factor into the equation, related to income taxes and which type of account it should be placed in?
When overlaying ENCC and NRGI on your 6 month charts, they look virtually identical. ENCC has a 10% yield vs NRGI at 7%, although I suspect there will be special dividends in addition.
Your thoughts...thanks...Steve

Q: Visa has been making new lows. What would you consider a good entry price for starting a position?
I assume visa has been decreasing due to recession and inflation cuting down on spending. Would agree with that or is there soem other reasons for the decline?
Thank you
Steve

Q: Hi
I have held SPB for a long time and my cost is $5.98 Over the years the stock has been more than paid for itself by the dividends.
It has been as high as $16.00 in the past year or so but now it is back below $10.00 again. It now yields over 7%. Is that out of line or even sustainable?
What could be the fundamental reason for this latest set-back? Winter is on it's way and global warming notwithstanding it will likely get colder.
They have continually been buying more assets and should that not make the shares more valuable?
Could I have your analyses please. H.
