Q: I have positions in these stocks, any in particular you would recommend buying the dip?

Q: Good day,

Wild few days in the market. As a stroke of luck, I transferred one of my managed accounts over so I could manage it myself, and that sale happened early last week and it is sitting in my account, ready to deploy. As a lucky tailwind, I don't want to squander it. Mostly in RRSP account.

Would you be adding to CLS, BAM, SHOP, TVK, PNG, ZDC right now? In order of priority please with a small 'why'.


I had purchased some AEM 1-2 years ago (great recommendation, thanks), and it has flown. Is it an add now and/or are there other Materials tickers you would suggest? Doesn't have to be precious, as long as they are executing well and have quality assets and a solid runway. maybe 1-2 each for precious, critical, and non-precious?

I sold TOI last summer, and with this crazy "Software off" cycle here, would you start accumulating? like 20 or 25% of a position? Is TOI the most likely candidate to return to its growth trajectory when the world begins to appear normal again?

PS. While looking at all my statements while transferring over to Questrade for their cashback promotion, my statements had my annualized returns calculated over 1 3 5 and inception. Since inception was 21% which I'm staked about, but my 3 year annualized was 43% !!! I just renewed my 4th year with 5i. Thanks Thanks THANKS!

I was reading a reply to a question by Shane and wanted to confirm my thinking. Your reply included the following comment "while we are not value investors primarily". I am not trying to box you into a category, but I thought that since 5i encourages long term investing that 5i was primarily a value investor.

Q: I asked AI (go figure!) why BX is sliding and if there is lending exposure to AI related software CO’s. Would you agree that this may partially be the reason behind share price declines?

Applicability of your theory: High. Blackstone is a major lender to the software sector. If AI hurts software profitability, Blackstone's loan book takes a hit.
• Downside Risk: Moderate to High. The combination of high valuation, "soft" guidance, and genuine exposure to software disruption makes BX vulnerable in this specific correction.

Q: Would you add/buy crypto ETFs now , Bitcoin and/or Etherum ? In USD or CDN?
I hold a small amount of BTCC.a. I sold my ETHX-U in 2023, close to the actual price.
I also have a new position in GLXY.

Q: NXF is a covered call EFT. Do you have a recommendation for an energy sector ETF that does not sell covered calls? Within my RRSP, I would like to own two ETF’s, the energy sector, to hold my energy related investments. Is there a rule of thumb to guide the percentage one should put into each (ie: 25% in a covered call ETF; 75% in an ETF which does not sell covered calls)?

Q: If I am correct in my thinking, CSU grows primarily through acquisition. I remember hearing that their pipeline was huge with respect as to the number of opportunities. Perhaps those opportunities are now way cheaper and they can acquire good companies at much lower valuations.

Yesterday software stocks took a hit following an announcement from Anthropic that it was launching a new artificial intelligence tool servicing legal work, broadly threatening software firms. Private credit stocks, including Blue Owl and TPG, declined on fears over AI disrupting the software industry.

I know you still like CSU, but I am now down ~ 25-30% since purchasing late last year. Thoughts on still holding?

Q: Hi 5i Team - With the continued downward trend of these three companies, do you think it is still now all AI fear related, and if so is there a chance some of these fears are legitimate. I think you have stated that fundamentals remain the same. Have there been any announcements from CSU, TOI, and LMN supporting their businesses and attempting to reassure investors over the past several months.
Has there been any insider buying or selling over the past half year.
It seems that Lumine may be getting hit the hardest of the three. Would that be your opinion as well.
If trimming positions in these three stocks, in what order would you do it and would the reverse hold true if adding.

Q: What is your take on the Zonal acquisition by Volaris? With over 700 employees and a presence in more than 16,000 sites across the UK, it seems like a major move to consolidate their leadership in the hospitality VMS sector. Also, do you think artificial intelligence could significantly impact negatively or positively the product roadmap for this type of business?

Q: I am looking to move away from some under performing stocks and looking at these as replacements. Any concerns? Ones you would prefer?

So; another brutal day for tech. My portfolio is tech loaded with many of 5i favourites. At this point my portfolio is down 18% from October’s highs. Whats your sense on what to do going forward? Hold the line and wait for a hopeful recovery? Add to highest conviction names that are down big? Or sell off some of these holdings and attempt to diversify into metals or something that has moment? My strategy in 2022 was to add to quality such as nvda and shop which paid off well, but now I am quickly almost in the same boat again it seems as 2022 sell off being Csu family heavy , shop , Rddt, gsy , Prl , Srad, Geni , Nvda to name a few weak performing holdings as of late . And standout buys today that are sticking out to you?

Q: I've owned XIT for a very long time and it has performed extremely well. Using your charting system, I have tracked it against QQQ and it is amazing how you can virtually lay one on top of the other over multiple time frames (especially 3 years and 10 years).

It is only in the last month that there is an obvious change. XIT has plummeted since the start of 2026, while QQQ has roughly held it's own.


XIT is comprised of 10 stocks, with SHOP at 25%, CLS at 24%, CSU at 23%, GIB.A at 12%....totalling roughly 85% of XIT.

Reading up on these four, I think I can paraphrase the 5iR answers as: SHOP-no major concerns, CLS-no concerns at all, CSU-should be ok in the long terms (unless AI is indeed a major disruptor to the software subset of technology, GIB.A-should be ok, but not exciting. My apologies if I got this wrong.

For asset allocation purposes, I added funds to XIT in late December and early Jan around the $80 level (this is after trimming at $86). So if I liked XIT at $80, I should really like it in the $60's. I have more funds available to add to XIT, but I am very proud of my latest action this week or so....just sit on my hands and do nothing.

I like buying when the proverbial "blood is running down the street" and could easily top up now. However, we may now be looking at some capitulation...not sure? I also look at the old expression that after a parabolic rise, the stock could easily settle by 1/3 to 1/2.

Do you have any advice as to when to deploy new funds into XIT? Should we wait until CSU reports in late-Feb? Are there other factors to consider.

Q: Hello team,

If you had money only for one, which one would you buy today and why? I wanted to buy SNDK but I have burn before when a stock grow exponentially. SNDK has gone up by more than 2000% in the past 200 days!!! Is this justified? Do you think there is more room here and the stock makes it to $1000/share in the next 200 days?
