Q: Hi,
If the Caltex acquisition doesn't go through (either ATD pulling out, or Caltex continuing rejecting offer, or other party such as EG making higher bid etc.) - how much short term affect do you think it will have on the stock price?
Thanks,
Brad

Q: How do you see the next few earnings reports for Knight ?
Does earnings jump due to acquisition ? Does this change things with the price expectations ? Thanks.

Q: I am having a hard time discerning whether or not you favor AGI based on searching your previous comments regarding Alamos. I know you like AEM and KL but is AGI a worthy investment based on global political discourse or is AEM or KL a far better option?

Q: Hello 5i Team,
I currently hold throughout my accounts BAM.A, BBU.UN and BPY.UN. I like what recent investments made with BIP.UN. Would you consider a switch of one of my existing holdings and/or am I over exposed to Brookfield as whole?
I have a Long term Time Horizon.
Thank you

Q: I was thinking of buying some AT&T for my RRSP and Telus for my TFSA. Your thoughts?
Q: I am a 73 year old retiree and am thinking about adding WCP or TOG to my TFSA or RIF. Which company would you lean towards and into which fund. I am light on energy.
Q: Thoughts on RZZ for a royalty streaming company? Do you expect it to continue to do well?
Q: Saputo has a significant investment in Australia. How much has the fires affected the supply of milk and the distribution of its products in that country?
The company annually increases its dividend a very modest amount and the share price remains quite flat. In light of the above is SAP still a hold?
Thanks for your great advice.

Q: Could you recommend a REIT that has a large position in the Vancouver area
Q: Greetings 5i team,
I am looking to start a position(s) in the following:
- two of STC, GUD, REAL or MMX, and
- four of BYD, MX, CAE, WSP, TRI, GIL, ENGH or BAD
From a quality of investment with a 3-5 yr potential, perspective (not sector nor type of account etc,..) in what order would you make the purchases within each of the two groups?
Thank you for all of your good work

Q: I've held Artis Reit in my RRSP for quite a few years. I'm thinking of replacing it with H&R Reit. My thinking is H&R Reit:
1) has higher quality assets
2) is almost 4 times the size of Artis Reit (base on market cap)
3) pays a larger dividend
4) is at least as diversified geographically and by asset type (office, retail, industrial, and residential) as Artis Reit
I have two questions:
1) Is H&R just now heading into the problem of too much concentration in Alberta that Artis went through over the last few years (so this may not be the right time for the switch)?
2) Is Artis share price going to appreciate over the next qtr or two from its divestiture of properties at above the REITs NAV? If so, maybe waiting a qtr or two before switching would be better.
As always, I appreciate your insights.
All the best to the 5i Research team in 2020!

Q: Hello 5i,

Q: I used to own SVI on the venture, was tired of holding it and as a result missed it’s recent rally. What do you think of PSA on the nyse for a first time purchase.
-
Shopify Inc. Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (SHOP $197.03)
-
Lightspeed Commerce Inc. Subordinate Voting Shares (LSPD $17.08)
Q: Both these companies shares seem to me, based on fundamentals - choose any - seem way over priced. SHOP especially is in the stratosphere in terms of valuation. What the heck am I missing? Do you have an in depth explanation that can convince me that I should own either using XIT ETF?
Q: Happy New Year team,
I'm looking to top up my TFSA for the current year.
You seem to be positive on both WELL and MTLO
May I ask why you are positive on these two mircocaps?
What are their competitive advantages?
Cheers

Q: Hi 5i team,
Looking to add 2 stocks (2-4% position) in my RRSP portfolio from the following (MG, KXS, CSU, GSY, WSP) for a holding period of 5-10 years, not too concerned about market volatility. Looking for quality company (good operator in his business, good balance sheet, etc…) with good growth potential.
What would be your top 2 picks from these and why ?
Thank you
