Q: Great service.TY. Does Exchange report on Aug 8th and would it be fair to predict that they would beat because of the price of aviation fuel or am I way off base here? Also is there any particular reason a little 'eye' (or something) appears beside its name when a question is asked about it??

Q: Hello Peter,
I was expecting Fairfax, CRH medical, and Constellation to go up significantly after the earnings announcement. Fairfax dipped, CRH and CSU went up slightl. Any comments please? Do you think it is too late to enter Electrovaya at 3.40 or above? Also, do you think Knight (gud) is a type of stock you can buy and hold it for years given the credibility of the management team? Thanks very much.

Q: What do you think about Cameco? It has had a large fall in the past day. Is the price low enough to buy and wait now? Is the dividend safe? Tim G, of Cameco said that they do forward averaging currency contracts for currency price protection. What kind of exchange prices are they getting now and when will it change to the current exchange? Once it does that should help their bottom line, I believe.

Q: In the past I have just held a few stocks (PHM was one of them) but am now planning to take a much larger position in the Canadian market and would very much welcome your opinion, comments and suggestions on the list of stocks I have chosen. They were chosen largely based on their current price and the apparent opportunity for capital gain. What do you think.

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
I realize no one can predict this volatile commodity pricing . I have rode oil down for its highs waiting to capture "some " of my losses back before getting my oil weighting down to a more reasonable level than it was then or is now ( currently about 10 percent) . I sometimes think oil is the same as farming - no pricing power - no limitations on supply. Eric Nuttall was preaching optimism again on BNN on Friday. Then again he said Baytex at $9 as it touched a couple months back was already pricing I oil at $60. So do you think that for a patient investor (willing to wait 2-3 years for some decent gains) , there is a decent upside coming in that timeframe?
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: I realize this Canadian film production company is tiny and almost unknown but they seem to be executing well and the outlook sounds promising. I would appreciate your thoughts. Any talk on the street about them?
Q: Good Morning Peter, Ryan, and Team,
One of my accounts mirrors the Balanced Equity Portfolio very closely and has nicely chugged higher over time. (Thank you for that) I took a half position in NFI after it was added to the Balanced Equity Portfolio. The only company missing completely from my account is Magna (MG-TSX). My question is
because I have limited cash (just at present) should I add to New Flyer to make it a full position or initiate a position in
Magna ??? Magna looks very cheap after coming way down post Brexit but New Flyer looks very good from a momentum prospective. Thank you as always for your sage advice. DL

Q: which would you recommend for income growth, stability and reasonable valuation. Capital appreciation is not as important. Looking for a 2 to 3 year hold. Thanx.
Q: I am just curious about a lawsuit against becker about one of their properties in Listowel, Ontario. They are mentioned as co-defendant. Becker completed a very expensive environmental assessment of all their properties a few years ago and nothing significant was found. Becker has been for sale for a few years and do you see any roadblocks to a sale based on this lawsuit and how significant this lawsuit to any potential buyers? Thanks.
Q: I have held this for a few years, and bought at much higher prices. Do you know the reason for the steady decline and should i continue to hold?
Would you switch from this co to Fiera financial? thanks Clare

Q: I currently hold BPY (up 50% over cost) and H&R in my portfolio 4% and 3% respectively.
I am considering swapping BPY for BEP for the additional income. Your thoughts?
I also plan to crystallize my capital losses and purchase the following ETFs:
Non registered:
ZPW – US Put Write
ZWE – Europe Covered Call hedged to CAD.
ZWH – US covered call
CPD – CAD preferred
XRE – Capped REIT
Registered (RRIF):
PGX:US – Preferred.
Each would constitute 2% - 3% of my portfolio. Diversification is my intention, but risk and surety of income is the primary consideration in all of the above noted.
Again, your thoughts.
Thank you for considering my questions

Q: I am thinking of adding US financial services to my diversified rsp portfolio. I am ideally looking for a CDN dollar etf that invests in/takes advantage of value priced US financials at close to book. Bank of America, Citigroup are examples. Time frame is 7 to 10 years. Thanks as always
Q: Hi, I have been comparing low-volatility developed ETF options traded in Canada with the options (to my knowledge) being ZLI and XMI. My analysis has sided with ZLI and I want to layout the logic here to hear your thoughts. Positives for ZLI: Smaller market cap while not too small offers better opportunity for alpha, Fewer holdings so more opportunity for alpha, Not based on major index (MSCI) so less opportunity to be front-run, BMO has a good track record for other similar funds (e.g. ZLU). Positives XMI: Longer operating history , Slightly lower MER, more resources for investment research(?). Thanks as always.
