Q: Would you be comfortable buying convertible debenture JE.DB.B for income? Are there any concerns that the company will not be able to meet its obligations when the debenture matures in 2018?
Q: I don't know if this is within your scope, but I am inquiring about the tax consequences of investing in a US public limited partnership such as KKR in:
1) a taxable account; and,
2) an RRSP.
Thanks,

Q: Hi there,
I currently follow the BE Portfolio with a slight growth tilt. I have about 25 positions on, each starting with a 4% weighting. I have done very well few names such as SIS, SHOP, PBH, TOY etc. At what weighting would you recommend that I trim back positions?
Thanks!

Q: Hi Peter and Team,
For this year's RRIF payment, I need to sell approximately 14K of stocks as I've been almost fully invested over the last year, in large measure due to 5i's superb recommendations. The stocks listed above are in sectors where I am overweight. I have several questions, so please deduct credits as you see fit:
(1) If I sold CGX outright, I'd obtain roughly 14K and would reduce my total number of holdings and lower my overweight consumer discretionary stocks. Even though CGX has fallen from its lofty heights, I'm still up, especially when factoring in the accumulated dividends. Also, there would be only one sell transaction. Are you OK with this plan?
(2) Are there any others in the list that could/should be an outright sell?
(3) Or, would a better plan be to reduce holdings in each stock by taking profits?
Of course, this would mean more sell transaction fees.
As always, I defer to your recommendations, and have been rewarded for doing so. Thanks in advance.

Q: I have used the Financial Post site for convertible debenture quotes for many years. It was an awesome site that providing me with all the info I needed for convertible debentures trading on the TSX. About 4 weeks ago it went away and I have been unable to find another site that was comparable to this one? Does anyone know another site that provides a summary of quotes for Canadian convertible debentures?

Q: On Dec.1 NFI announced the purchase of ARBOC which from what I understand is a competitor of BUS. I have been looking to buy BUS for a while and have been waiting for a pull back like this, I also see some insiders stepping in to buy here, I am thinking part of the sell off is possibly due to maybe some pre knowledge of this takeover by NFI. Do you think this takeover will or could have much of an adverse effect on BUS ability to sustain growth growing forward and would you consider an investment in BUS at this time as part of a portfolios small cap component at maybe an overall 2% portfolio position?
thanks Tom

Q: Hi,
I'm interested in adding a cannabis pharmaceutical to my portfolio and am curious if you have any input or recommendations. I like ISOL but am having a hard time finding reports for them. I'm aware that this is a high risk speculative investment but I feel there's a promising future for CBDs in medicine and would like to start a small position. I've listed a few companies I'm interested in but am open to others.
Thanks

Q: Good Morning 5i
What is your view of this stock? Coming on BNN today at 11:30 or 1:40 Monday. Says it has first Hops derived Non-Cannabis cannabidiol CBD for world-wide medical market. Product not-marijuana based therefore not regulated as heavily world wide. What are your thoughts on whether this has legs? Any financials or discussions world-wide showing demand potential for such a product?
Thanks.

Q: Good morning Peter and team,
I am planning on setting aside 3% of my total portfolio for stocks that either have a good potential for long-term growth (i.e. set it aside and hope to have a multi-bagger in 10 years).
I currently own SHOP and would appreciate 3-4 more names you would suggest I consider, including a way to play the Artificial Intelligence space (is Horizons ROBO ETF a suitable option?).
Please disregard all B.E. Portfolio stocks (which I already own) and sector/market cap don't matter. I would prefer to stick to Canadian exchanges.
Thanks in advance,
Rory
