Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Due to health problems my Doctor advised that I cease to manage my investments through a bank self managed brokerage account. I will transfer my assets to a advisor associated with Hollis Wealth. Because HW is not a bank I had to sell my holdings and then transfer the cash. The investment will be made this week. Should I invest all the funds or spread it out over a period of time? It wii be a very long time investment.
Thanks for your advise over the past years.

Q: I just read an article about the future of Esports by B Carlson and he concludes that Esports is (will be) very big. Any ideas how to invest in this growing trend? Not sure that players bet on outcomes, so TSGI may not be relevant. Apparently Bezos owns a piece of the action, so maybe Amazon?
Thanks for helping with this rather difficult question.

Q: I recently entered into a 2% position in the recent dip when Amazon announced the PillPack acquisition. This dip was shortly after WBA's addition to the DOW. Do companies historically see short to medium term strength after being added to the DOW? The long term trend isn't great on WBA so I am trying to decide whether I should lock in profits and enjoy the successful trade or hold it longer term as an investment. My healthcare allocation is ~5% including WBA.

Q: Hello Peter / Ryan and Team,

Looking at COV. Seems like there is a huge difference between Shares Outstanding and Floating shares. Does this mean that there are a lot of shares locked by insiders? When are these scheduled to be able to be traded and is that a concern for the future with the stock up so much? With the large run up lately, do you still feel it is a good buying opportunity or would you wait for a pull back as the chart gives me a bit of a pause.

Thanks for all you do,

Wes

Q: "We certainly see FCR as a 'slow but steady' type of income name, with not a whole lot of catalysts." A 5i response to a question dated 07 May 2018 from another Stephen.
With the investment news announced today (9 July) and the Short Description: Treasury Offering of Common Shares Price @ $20.50, is this looking good? Any possible problems for example debt loads? Unlike the other Stephen I am down a bit from where I bought this over a year ago.

Thanks

Q: Like to know what you think about atd.b. I’am a somewhat long term investor, I consider 3 years as the beginning of a long term hold and will hold at lot longer 5+ years if the stock is performing.
I have had look at atd.b with a three year chart and seen three years ago it was at about $57 and today it was at about $57, with a high of $68 a year ago. Did the have a stock split?
I do find it hard holding this stock as I only get .70% for waiting, and I do have a hard time picking the highs and selling.
Question is I do like a combination of dividend and growth ( I’m not greedy but do like to see something in 3 years) would you hang on, or could you suggest a company with more dividend and a little more growth.
Thanks for your comments
