Q: hello 5i:
I'm considering selling RAY.A, just to get rid of a really weak stock, and something that has become a very small holding in the portfolio. One thing is holding me back, and that is the dividend and its safety. Can you discuss how RAY.A has been impacted and look forward? I believe that a company that can continue to pay a decent dividend will be (even more) valuable with interest rates falling. That might be double edged if interest rates begin to rise quickly.
thanks
Paul L

Q: Ray.a did not participate in the last 3 great up days.Today closed@ $3.25 down 0.24 on big vol.of 440k(av.133k) with a 1yr low of $3.18. On Mar 23 increased NCIB to max 4.9m shares from 2.9m As at Mar 20,bought back 2.9m shs at av.price of $6.01. Between Mar 12 to 19 CEO bought 200k shs at av.$4.33 & Chair bought 251.7k @ av.$4.49(total shs held- 2.91m).At last Q div was increased by 7%,now the yield is 9.23% in part due to drop in price. Why the price keep dropping? Is it because of its business?. My p/p $9.10,now 1% position. Is it time to move on to some better stocks(if so,please give 2 names} or stay put. Please comment.Txs for u usual great services & advices.

Q: Basing on u top pick on market call on Aug 8/18 I bought it @ $9.10,a drop of 24% to current 1.5% position.I think this is not in U portfolios.Despite recent increase in dividend,co's buy back of shares, recent insider buying by Chairman(300k shs @ $7.30) who is very motivated & ambitious,& decent results last Q,it gets no investor love. After results on Aug 6($6.15 then) it rallied nicely to reach $7.94 on Aug 26,then declined to current $6.95.Please advise if I should continue to hold,& if not, suggest a replacement(can be any sector). Thanks for u usual great services & advices

Q: FYI. 2 articles in The Van Sun on RAY.A. E Boyko, its ceo has a vision to become the biggest music streaming co. in the world. He has 2 main policy concerns. Our government should have a policy of buying local. He dislikes Finance Minister's plan to tax stock options more heavily, even thogh the government indicated that fast growing cos like RAY.A will be exempt. 2nd article states that Bombardier & SNC are being replaced in the public's consciousness by digital economy outfits such as RAY.A, LSPD & Stradigi AI,all of which talk about becoming world leaders, but without the sort of heavy government support received by older champions of Quebec Inc. RAY.A has risen $1.09 since Aug 6 Q results.

Q: Gentlemen - I know you guys have liked RAY.A in the past. It's had a rough run the last month and earnings are to be reported shortly. I wonder if I should be a contrarian here and take a position. Love the increasing dividend and high insider ownership as well as increasing free cash flow which will bring down the leverage over time. Thoughts?
