Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: In your answer to a question from Oscar about Hydro One buying Avista, you said “We would be fine with the debenture issue, with the conversion price discounted to $21.40 to entice investors.” My question is as follows: Will individual investors be able to buy these Hydro One debentures when they are issued?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Q: First of all thank you for putting the "sectors" beside the names in your portfolios - that is much appreciated.

Could you please list the "utility" companies you like best in order or preference and could you state if it is "large" company or a "small" company.
Thank you
Margaret

Q: Good morning! I have some Hydro One that I purchased when it first went public. It's done okay-ish with the dividend but seems to be in a rut now and with another share offering announced, it seems like it won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I was thinking of switching it with Algonquin and wondered what you might think of that strategy? Thank you for all you do.

Q: I noticed you mentioned while FFH is a good company it is not one of your favourites. Would like a suggestion for a replacement.
Second question, with hydro rates in everyones mind and the thought Kathleen MAY DO SOMETHING, I was wondering what affect reducing hydro rates might have on the stock.Hard question to answer but appreciate your thoughts. What would you suggest as a replacement. I reply on dividends in my retirment and safety is also a concern.
