Q: Hello 5i team,
I was wondering about McCoy global. It seems that they have not released a quarterly result since september of last year (3rd quarter). Do you know if anything was released up to now?
I am thinking of dropping it if there is no surprise.
Q: I have heard that Blockchain technology may be adopted by the financial industry for their own use so there might be an opportunity to invest in authentic blockchain companies. What do you think of this and if you agree, are there any companies you would suggest or what about the new Harvest etf?
Q: I would like to buy one of the above companies. DSG's share price is expected to go up nicely in the next year, but it does not appear to have the push the other two have. What would you recommend?
Q: Good Evening
I own a Cominar bond maturing in 2022. I realize that DBRS has rated this company below investment grade (BBHigh).
Recently an analyst has commented that if you buy a high yield bond from Cominar " is like going to a casino and putting your money on the roulette wheel. It’s a terrible idea and makes no sense. The company has had to cut its distribution in the last 12 months."
Do you share the concerns of the above analyst? In your view, will Cominar have difficulties in meeting their obligations to the bondholders?
Would you advise holding or selling this bond?
As always, I appreciate your comments.
Q: Would now be a good or bad time, to take a position in ZEF, looking for some income and growth, not worried about time frame, I have never invested outside of Canada. Thanks.
Q: Hi,
The only financial stock I own right now is bns. I want to add one more while they’re all still down a bit. Would you prefer ecn, slf or gsy (would you even count this as a financial)? Or is there a better financial to add?
Also, what are your favorit 1-2 for consumer cyclical and discretionary?
Q: i am thinking buying some Canadian bank stock, it is a good timing for long turn investment ? and which bank your team will choose?
i am 48 years now.
Q: Hi 5i Team, what is the NAV of MUX and is it a good time to buy. I don't understand why it has been so weak, every time it goes above $3.00 lots of sellers come in and drive it down to $2.60-$2.70. Thanks.
Q: Thinking of changing 4 Can. banks into 1 for tax loss but not missing the upside in the next 30 days. Which one would you pick, or just leave as is ?
Thanks
Q: Is it concerning how poorly gold has reacted to recent events re: volatility, fear, and increasing inflation outlook...AEM has been disappointing with a 4% weighting in my portfolio.
Thanks,
Rob
Q: Hi 5i, I do know you guys are focusing on Canadian Equity. However, I would like to get your opinions on short-vol ETFs like XIV and SVXY since this topic is so popular right now. We all know after today's trade, these products lost most of their values due to the spike of volatility. But in the past 2 year, short-vol has been a money-printing trade that is crazily profitable. I think since the market fundamentals did not change and the volatility will go low eventually, these products are insanely cheap now and looks like they will go up like before? One thing I am worrying is that Credit Suisse announce to liquidate their XIV soon. Will you say this will happen to similar products like SVXY or HVI.TO? Will you recommend to but this "super dip" now? Sorry this question is long, but I bet a lot of people are looking forward to hear your thoughts about this issue right now.
