Q: Can you give me your thoughts on Jerome Hass, and the Lightwater Funds, both the Nimble Fund, and the Long/Short Fund? Do you know him? Have you heard of any problems or issues with the company, and can you comment on the pair trade approach? To me, it seems like a logical way to mitigate market and sector risk. Thanks for your help.

Q: Peter and team:

I am currently down about 20% on TFI in a well balanced long term hold portfolio.
I am considering cutting my losses and buying NFI. Would you consider these in the same "sector", and what is you opinion of this switch.
My concern is how much upside is left in NFI. I have owned it in my kids RESP and done well (2.5x), but am wondering how much "growth" is left.

Than you as always for a great service!

Q: Hi Peter
Don't publish this if you don't think it is appropriate.

Last night I went to the Cineplex and bought tickets for the new Tarzan movie. It was in 3-D and had the new D-Box technology. The two tickets cost $43.00 without food or drink.
I found the seat jerking up and down and sideways very annoying. Probably just me, but if anyone is thinking of investing in the technology they should go try it out first. Luckily I could turn it off. Good, fun movie otherwise.

Q: With regard to a question earlier relating to CZO 30%rise in price, it must be either on the 5th or 6th July, a BNN Market Call Guest was very excited when he recommended this Co. as one of his top picks. He was a first time Guest and the reason for his top choice was Czo has the patent for extracting something from the Oats and etc. I think my co-member can obtain this info from BNN.

Q: I own the Paramount 2019 bonds. In the press release there is a paragraph about the 2019 notes. The redemption option is pretty straight forward. Could you explain the consent to keep the bonds part.
After the deal Paramount will have more cash/assets than debt, even though it's 3 years away, it seems they'll likely be able to pay back the principal, I'm leaning towards keeping the bonds. Would you agree?

Q: Further to Eugene's question about BNN guests, why would guest choose to appear? Is it similar to real estate agents hosting open houses to drum up more clients for themselves?

Q: Hi Team,
I was hoping you could help explain something. I own a five-year corporate bond ladder. This year to date the value of my bonds have fallen 0.91% (which on its own is fine as I hold the bonds to maturity). I am unclear why my bonds would underperform VAB (up 3.56%) and CBO (down 0.16%) in the same timeframe.

I realize VAB has a longer duration on average than my ladder or CBO. Credit quality may be better in both funds, and mine are typically in the BBB range. But is there any other reason why bond funds should outperform specific bonds in a ladder? Is there a scenario where a bond ladder will outperform the bond funds?

Finally, is there any advantage to owning bonds in a ladder at all?

Thank you. Michael
