What is the reason for not wanting to hold BEP.UN in a cash account as opposed to an RRSP or TFSA? Is it just because BEP issues a T3 late in the tax season? Or is there another reason?
Thanks 5i!!
Q: Hi folks i have $6,000 to put into my tfsa account this year. Would just like your thoughts on these current companies, please and thank you for all your help.
Q: I have noticed lately that some of your answers have an addendum that people associated with 5i may have financial interest in companies mentioned. Does this represent a shift of philosophy away from unbiased answers?
Q: I own Boardwalk and Interrent REITs. I have nice gains in both. Boardwalk finally seems to have some momentum behind it after languishing for a few years. With a solid quarterly release in the next couple of weeks, do you think it can continue to move higher and get back to the $60's. They keep saying they are trying to diversify the portfolio, but no major moves yet out of Alberta. Alberta's economy is doing better, but the name will always be attached to oil until they diversify throughout the country. Thoughts?
Q: I bought into both of these companies last year and am down about 50% (along with the rest of the sector). In spite of the overall sector performance what would be your expectation of these 2 companies for this year and next? Should I get out while there is still something left and reinvest into something considerably less volatile or is there a chance these companies can still make a comeback in the short term?? Thanks
Q: Hi 5i
First I want to thank you for a great service. I’ve been with 5i for quite some time and have never been disappointed.
Just wondering about Seven Aces, I’ve done very well in a shot period of time, maybe too much too quickly.
Your thoughts on the company please.
Thx Gerry
Q: I was surprised to see Park Lawn go down over 5 percent today on the announcement of the ceo's departure. When i looked into it a little closer, i saw that Mr. Clark had taken a small company worth 30 million to one evaluated at over 900 million in just seven years. I see Mr. Paul Smith is filling in as chairman while they search for a new ceo. Is it odd that in that time they did not hire someone and groome them for the post? I can see the importance of leadership! Should we be worried with this transition?
Q: Hi 5i Team; what are your short term (6 mos) and long term view of CRM. I am interested in growth with some risk. As well I would like your suggestions on any other US stocks with good growth prospects. Thanks for all your previous help.
Q: BEP's share price is up almost 4% today and it has been very strong over the past month or so. I know other alternative energy stocks have also been strong (e.g. NPI), but not as strong as BEP. What is causing the huge move in BEP again today? Any news or ideas? Are the l likely to have a share offering at these prices?
Q: Hello,
If I bought Brookfield on the US listing in my TFSA would I still get the full dividend or would it be subject to the 15% withhold? Is the US listing also going to do the 3 for 2 split?
Thanks
Q: We have given our 19 year-old Son $12K to maximize his TFSA. I have advised him to watch North American ETFs, now that we are at the top of the economic cycle. Can you recommend a few individual Canadian stocks with a 6+ year time horizon? Would you recommend any International, European or developing world ETFs?
Thank you!!
Grant
Q: How would you view this company and stock? I read the the Ontario Teachers Pension has increased it's holdings by quite a bit recently as well as other investors and analysts commenting they are warming up to BB. Can you also comment on their autonomous driving applications or other projects they are involved in? This would be a long term purchase 5-10 years. Thanks as always
