Q: While I have no issue buying and selling stocks in my registered accounts, I find I am tremendously reluctant to sell stocks in my non-registered accounts when there's a capital gain. By way of example, I've held onto MSI for a couple of years and am up 45%. The stock seems to be stalling...and I'm tempted to replace it with MG. Two questions/asks:
1) Please discuss your strategy for selling profitable stocks in a non-registered account.
2) In my case, would you replace MSI with MG...and why? (In terms of industrials, I also own TFII, WSP and J.)
Thank you.

Q: What's your opinion on this one? What does the future hold? Got a double and wondering if I should take some profits but still is not an over-weight position. The WE publicity that our finance minister is certainly not helping the the stock. Your pragmatic opinions are so appreciated. Thanks Ron

Q: Hi, I sent a question, a day or two ago about MSI, if it got lost in transit. I had sought your opinion to start a 2% position at current levels, as we wish to own a company in the sector ( do not own PEO). MSI has made some some recent good US acquisitions and appears to have a solid growth trajectory, besides paying a decent dividend. It peeked our interest when we noticed it among your favourites for 5i portfolio, in one of recent posts. Thank You

Q: I would like your opinion on MSI going forward.
I have owned MSI in my TFSa for several years now & it has done very well, however how does it compare it to another industrial companies such as CAE going forward. Some parameters of comparison that would interest me would be debt level, holding up in a recession, insider ownership.
If you think a switch from MSI would be advantageous at this point are there other companies that you would recommend over CAE?

Q: Can you please advise which ETF you prefer and why: VTI or DIA?

And secondly, why is MSI rated as a hold? I'm up 40% over the last year...and it comes with a respectable dividend of 2.54%. What am I missing here?

Thank you.

Q: Hi 5i,
I looked on the MSI web site and it looks like they do not offer Career Management Services (ie job loss displacement servces). Can you confirm this please?
This service seems to be offered by PEO. Can you also confirm this please?
In my opinion, this is a key service to have if there is a significant downturn in our economy and there is a great deal of job loss. Can you suggest any CDN listed stocks which may provide this service?
thanks

Q: Hi Peter and Co.
I currently own MSI, PLC and TCN in a well diversified RRIF. These 3 are under-represented and I have some cash to deploy. Assuming these 3 are keepers, which would you add to?
Thanks, as always.
