Q: i was shocked to find numerous footnotes at the end of answers that state 5i staff own the stocks you are commenting on. I thought your major selling point was being unbiased by not owning any stocks, just getting paid for analysis. How can you be unbiased if you own the stocks? How does this make you different from the talking heads you often criticized?

Q: Thank you to the whole 5I team for your precious help during these difficult times. I am retired and I hold shares in a corporate account of DIR and CAR with losses of approximately 30% each. The company is expected to close within 3 years. Do you think these 2 titles will go back to their paid level by then. If not, would it be appropriate to sell them take a tax loss and migrate to companies with slightly lower dividends but with more growth? I thought of BIP and BEP or BAM. If not, do you have any other suggestions?
Q: Hello, just learned about this company ABB ltd. Apart from the systems it makes for utilities and it's automation systems, I've learned that it's into fast charging stations for electric vehicles. Good dividend yield and I'm wondering if you can provide an opinion on whether it's worth putting some funds into this stock. Thanks as always for your excellent service.

Q: I have a hefty loss on IIF held in a cash account, I am thinking of selling it to harvest the loss and use part of it to add to a small position of MRNA and/or some other health related stock that may benefit from work on COVID-19 vaccine that you may suggest.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: In a margin account ,if you have a gain on a sell 50% is taxed on the gain and if you repurchase in less than 30days there is no discount when you sell.Does this also apply to rrif accounts. Thanks a lot for your very professional advise during these trying times.
Q: Hi team,
I'm up over 30% of CNQ in about a week or 10 days and I also own Suncor. I believe that the recent run up in the stock market and the energy companies over the last 2 days is not sustainable. I fear that the coronavirus impacts aren't fully appreciated and this will likely have a more profound impact on travel and demand for oil. I obviously have no idea if we hit the bottom or not, but given the the sharp bounce when is it ok to take your money and run, especially on Companies whose revenues are based on a commodity. I own several other stocks that I bough during the drop, including BCE, RY, TD, ENB, etc. so I will still have exposure to the upside, but in less risky names.
Thanks,
Jason

Q: I am aiming to have a portfolio with 2 solid companies in each of the 11 sectors. Do you feel SLF and X would be sufficient for allocation to the financial sector? Or would you suggest adding a bank (RY) to provide better diversification? Thanks in advance.
Q: Hello 5i Team
Are there any restrictions to the percentage of foreign equity within a RRSP? From everything I have seen so far with the merger of TSGI The Stars Group and Flutter will be OK in terms of if I can hold a UK stock in our SpousalRRSP but will it matter that it is over 10% of that account (not of all combined accounts)? I really do not want to sell it as it has not performed and I still have faith in it.
Thank you
Jeremy

Q: Hi 5i,
Thank you for the great work. Can you please comment on Park Lawn’s release and what’s driving the share price to a new 52-week low?
Thank you in advance.

Q: Would it be possible to comment on PLC's latest financial results (quarter and year)? What do you think of the appointment of the new CEO? Thank you very much.
Q: Some industries/companies should benefit from the low oil prices. Aside from airlines what would you suggest we investigate? I am mindful that oil is so cheap, in part, because the economy is in the tank but, it is possible oil will still be cheap when the economy recovers.
Q: I currently own a few reset preferreds in a registered account that mature from 2020 - 2023. I had planned to hold them to maturity. In the current conditions, should I continue to hold them? If not, what would you suggest in this space? Your expert advice is appreciated! Lloyd
Q: Are there any tsx listed medium and large cap companies that incur most of their costs in Canada but most of their revenue in the US? I ask because those companies may get a bump in revenue and profit because of the low cdn dollar/high us dollar.
Q: We have an unregistered account with 74% cash and want to buy some index funds (my wife read Millionaire Teacher and is convinced index funds eliminate some human error with stock selection). We are considering XIU, ZSP and perhaps ZDB; we do have a significant bond holding with Phillips, Hager & North and not sure if bonds should be part of this unregister account? Long term investments 7+ years. Thanks you very much for your comments on index funds.
Q: Dear 5i,
Can you provide some ideas where one might invest some cash if we have negative interest rates.
Should we be borrowing money to take advantage of negative interest rates?
Do you think negative interest rates would inflate the Canadian real estate market prices?
What observations have you made from European negative interest rate policies?
thanks
