Q: I am trying to decide between re-visiting my happily profitable experience with Mkango vs investing in Robex. Different mineral exposures, of course, but both in Africa. Which would be your pick for the speculative portion of a portfolio?
Q: I would appreciate your comments on:
1) the latest quarterly results.
2) overall prognosis for this specific company
3) whether you agree with their supposition that the hotel industry will have a recovery surge from pent-up demand probably beginning this summer (in the USA, at least).
Q: CEO is leaving after a relatively short stint, they guided down, but were they overly conservative? Yes, they can handle on-line, but these types of sales benefit greatly from the in-person experience, so shouldn't this company be a beneficiary of the re-open trade, regardless of their having guided down?
Your thoughts, please?
Q: Hello 5i team,
On the 5i website, for EIF's company description, it says that they focus on 2 sectors namely aerospace/aviation services and equipment/manufacturing.
As the pandemic wanes, will this company's fortunes improve or is this already factored into the share price(since the share price is close to an all time high)?
Is equipment and manufacturing still in the aerospace/aviation sector, or is it generally in sectors entirely different?
Q: Further to my prior question today regarding XBC , I am considering a buy with a long term 5-10 years. I know nothing is a sure thing but do you agree it is worth the risk at the current corrected price. Also would be a small % of portfolio.
Thanks
John
Q: BDT reported earnings a couple of days ago. Although revenue, earnings, EBITA, etc. look good initially, the market certainly does not like the results. Comments such as "the timing of recording the CEWS benefit was a significant factor affecting fourth quarter net income" likely explain some of the market reaction. May I have your perspective on BDT results, please?
Q: I heard that silver may continue its resurgence in 2021.
What would be your best bet in this space? Stock or ETF.
Could you list two of each?
Thanks
Jeff
Q: I think you missed the last part of my flutter question.
“What are the next big events that will affect share price. Will they get into single events gaming in Ontaro/ Canada?”
Also could you please tell how me I could follow flutter. My td Waterhouse just shows the recent trade prices but I can’t drill down into the useful information eg news, financials etc.
Q: I have an average cost base of $190 for Kinaxis. I still think it is a good company but was thinking it is maybe time to take a capital loss and move on. I was wondering if there are companies that you prefer more at current valuations and growth potential at this point in time? Or is Kinaxis at the top of the list and I should stick with it?
Q: JD.COM has slid below the $85 mark which was the entry point I was looking for .... It appears according to Bloomberg to be due to " sustained spending on logistics and new initiatives " ..... Here is a link to the article https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/jd-com-slides-e-commerce-052250118.html...... Doesn't seem to alarming to me so I am thinking of proceeding with purchase ...... Does 5 I see any alarm bells I may have missed in the Bloomberg article ? And when is their next reporting date ? ..... Thanks for your advice .
Regarding XBC just a comment .....I'd suggest they fire their current accounting department and hire these guys...... https://www.drf.com/ .....They are way better with numbers ......{ If I am going to lose money I might as well have a chuckle } ......
