Q: Happy New Year to the great team at 5iResearch and thank you for the great advice I have received from you over the years. It has been very profitable. I have a reasonably well balanced portfolio with a small amount of AQN ( ~0.5%) but no PBH. I am considering selling AQN and buying some PBH as I am relatively low in Consumer defensives. Which of the 2 companies do you prefer?

Q: Hello 5i. What is your opinion of Enbridge stock in context of a Biden Administration and their green/renewable policy positions?
Q: Which of the above 2 do you recommend for a five year hold ?
Q: BCE oversold here? Does price reflect slower growth versus T (fwd PE 16.6 versus 21 for T) or could price drift lower still in your opinion?
Telus trading well above its historical PE and PEG levels,
T is higher growth but based on valuation , BCE seems to be the better buy.

Q: Happy New Year Peter and the 5i team! Thank you for another year of useful steady independent information flow to guide 5i members.
I am considering adding 5 large-cap or mid-cap Canadian sustainable dividend growth stocks that are currently under-valued in unloved sectors and now yielding at least 3%. MFC and SU stand out. What is your opinion about both as medium risk investments over the next 3-5 years?
In addition, please indicate your 3 best stock alternatives, and 3 best ETFs, in the medium risk large cap or mid-cap Canadian space with a solid record of dividend growth.
I realize this is a broad request so please deduct points as you deem appropriate.
Thank-you.

Q: I know that you rate AQN highly, but why has this stock underperformed the others by like night and day in the last year. What is it that has held this stock back?. This has been a hot market for these stocks here in Canada and the USA.

Q: No rush to answer. Retired, dividend-income investor. I am a position "light" in the Communications sector. I already have a full position in BCE....looking to add one of Telus, Shaw, Cogeco, Rogers or another name you might suggest.
When I look at the various metrics (P/E, P/BV, P/CF, P/S, ROE) I filtered out Telus, leaving SJR and CCA and RCI. Reading past questions, some quite dated, I am wondering if time has changed your opinions on these three.
Shaw has a nice (5.4%) but slow-growing dividend. ROE 10%. It's chart looks good from a value point of view, but is it a value trap? Very poor momentum.
Cogeco has a lower (2.6%) but faster growing dividend. ROE 16%. It's chart shows better momentum. I also wonder whether a new takeover offer might be in the future?
Rogers is just ok across the board.
I'm leaning towards Cogeco, but wanted your advice first. What odds would you place on a take-over happening? Please rank all three in order of your preference to buy.
Thanks...Steve

Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation Class A Exchangeable Subordinate Voting Shares (BIPC)
Q: I owned BIP.UN for several years with the spin off I was also owned some BIPC. The units have done well in the past until this year, it was flat. Meanwhile the shares have virtually doubled since their issue. I'm a primarily growth investor and sees yields as a "fringe benefits", would you consider switching the units entirely over to shares?
Certainly the deciding factor would be whether the shares' combined return (growth and yield) would outpace those of the units? Kindly share you insight on this issue. Thanks.

Q: TC is around 8-10% above its March Covid low and the trend doesn't seem to be moving upward. Do you see some decent price appreciation ahead of this stock? Is it a buy, hold or sell?
Q: Hi, I'm currently holding NTR, WSP and GSY in my margin account. I've held NTR for a long time since Potash days and currently still down. I've done really with WSP and GSY but my loss on NTR almost equally offsets those gains. I would like to move some of these into my reg. accounts, what would be the best thing to do? I understand transferring any of these in kind would trigger a deemed disposition and trigger a capital gain/loss. What's your long term view of these positions and what do you think is the best way to proceed? Thanks!
Also, is there any website where you can plug in what you bought a stock at on a certain date and it would track what the market value would be worth now if it went through any splits or mergers?

Q: Retiree with a RRIF. Currently own ENB and PPL. Thinking of adding another energy player. Would you go with KEY or ALA and why. Any other suggestions? ( with decent dividend)
Thank you in advance. Happy New Year.

Q: Any particular reason for the recent decline in Enbridge stock recently? Is their dividend sustainable at 8%?
Q: Can you please comment on your outlook for Bep.un for 2021?Kim
Q: I’m thinking of selling my ALA and buying TRP with the proceeds. Thoughts? Had to ask the question now because of x div dates.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Brookfield Renewable Corporation Class A Exchangeable Subordinate Voting Shares (BEPC)
Q: Hello 5i
Both BEPC and BEP.UN have grown a lot in non-registered account. Is it Okay to keep them both in this account ? Since they have grown so much I plan to trim some and I wonder which one you would recommend to trim. BEPC is majority due to splits.
Thanks for all the hard work.
I wish your team a happy holiday season.
