Q: Howdy
Is there a tsx listing that would mirror Bitcoins movement if a person was inclined to throw money in the air on spec trade ???

Q: I think that the capital losses of CPD in 2015 were because of the BOC reducing the bank rate and the etf owns a large % of rate reset preferreds which do much better in a rising rate environment. Please confirm and explain why CPD also experienced large capital losses in 2008. I didn't think that reset preferreds were around in 2008. Did interest rates increase in 2008 and CPD was composed of perpetual preferreds back then? Thank you 5i.

Q: I have been following Imperial Oil for quite some time, looking for some momentum that might indicate it is time to take a position. They seem to have had some operational concerns at their new Kearl facility, but management appears to be taking steps to address those weaknesses.

Dividend has never been high, but appears to be stronger than traditionally the case.

With crude continuing to strengthen, what do you think might finally be the catalyst that would help their stock price? Also, what do you feel outlook is for 2018 for IMO?

would the 2 companies above be 2 of your favourites in the pm space? I note that there hasn't been much interest in OSK (at least on the 5i question space) since earlier in 2017. Why would that be? Out of favour? Do you think these names will outperform XGD?

Q: Just reduced short term position in OR with a 30 % annualized profit. Used money to take a position in MFC at 26.88 having second thoughts after today’s news on mfc. How will this right down affect the price or is it already price in ? This. Is my only position in insurance. Your thoughts.

Q: This is a followup to my question on PSA. For shorter term funds how would you rate the safety/risk between PSA and HFR ? Are there any tax implications in a TFSA for either product .
Also, a suggestion - I notice a number of people are looking for a place to park money with some degree ( including 100% ) of safety but don't necessarily want to get locked into GIC's. Any chance you could do a comparison chart for various alternatives that you feel would be appropriate, including tax impact for TFSA, other registered funds, and non-registered ?

Q: Buy and hold Canadian dividend stocks, forever, is my core strategy, and I dislike reits as I regard them as inferior long term securities. That said I am considering CAR.U because I like the exposure to apartment real estate What is your very long term view of this security decades out. Could it potentially morph into a common stock many, many years out and do you view it as a worthwhile hold for that time frame.

Q: FFIV.us disappointed shareholders and price dropped on results that didn’t look that bad. The shares have run up a lot though. Is FFIV still worth buying? How does it look on pure fundamentals especially debt levels? Do you like its business model? Does it handle competition well?
