Q: Hi Peter and Team,

I've been a long term holder of Boyd Group. Great recommendation by the 5i team!

Do you have any idea what went on at the end of 2023 that led to a number of Directors ceasing to be insiders to the company and their insider ownership subsequently being sold off or not visible on insider reports?

Next question: This seems like it should be a steady long term business with ability to grow and maintain strong earnings given the expensive and technologically advanced direction car manufactures are taking. Am I missing something in my outlook?

Q: VFV vs. VOO:
I understand VFV ETF contains VOO ETF, correct? What would you recommend, buy VFV in CDN $ account, or convert CDN$ cash in US$ cash using Norbit gambit and buy VOO in US account with US$? Any other recommendation for ETF to invest in US S&P500?

Q: Hi, I would appreciate your current view and level of conviction on this company. Based on numerous comments, it's been a 5i favorite for quite some time, although, stock pulled back from its highs, during the month of April. Stock price seems to stabilize a bit for past week or so. Utilities ( Power producers, specifically) also seem to be slowing finding some favour, possibly due to expectation of incredibly large demand for electricity/power from Data centres, over next 10 years or longer.

Would you consider this co. to be a good fit to have an exposure to this area and if so, whether the recent concerns have been mitigated and what price levels would you suggest to start a position.

Thank You

Q: Hi, with the relatively attractive PE ratio of Utilities and the proxy play of increased energy consumption demands of AI, can you recommend 3 Canadian Utilities and 3 US Utilities with a growth focus for a 2-3 year hold, and your thoughts on each.

Q: Good morning 5i
A number of people have commented on the large amount of cash that Berkshire is holding and worry about it. Mr. Buffet says they haven’t seen much to swing at and mentions that it is not a bad time to hold cash, given numerous unresolved and potentially dangerous situations in the world at the moment. I realize that Mr. Buffet has much more money than the average investor and that makes buying significant assets more difficult. I would be interested in your take on this?
With appreciation

Q: Hi Group . I am not happy with my Raymond James financial advisor. Namely I am paying them $1200/month in fees. Presently i am at 6% return YTD (7 1/2 average over last 10 yrs). When i look at your balanced portfolio you are significantly better than that as is the major markets..

What is the best way to measure performance. Is it fair to say in general that they should be better than the market. What do you suggest as a reasonable measurement on performance . I realize this is not easy to measure so can you give me some suggestions that i can follow . thanks for your help
