Q: Hi 5i,
I noticed that your recent answer to a question on Tencent came up under the TCEHY symbol for over the counter trading. The company is now trading on the NYSE under the symbol TME, which should make a better market for it in North America and free it up from the warnings about RSP suitability that usually come up with the over the counter stuff. Cheers!

Q: According to a Morningstar report, year to date earnings per share are negative; yet another report I saw seems to contradict this. What do you see as this year's EPS?
Also what is your current projection for earnings over the next two years? And what are possible events that could affect your estimates either up or down?

Q: ALA: Sorry, another question about ALA. I just want to confirm: Is your best advice to sell ALA, take the loss (in my non-registered account) and move on, despite the 50% loss in share price? Besides ENB as an alternative for a long term income objective, what other quality stocks would you recommend now?

Q: Hi. I contributed some money to my RRSP account and would like to buy 3-5 stocks that have a lot of upside potentials given the latest drawback of the market. Though I have a 10+ years holding period, it would be nice to see short term gain. I don't mind buying US stocks (or Canadian stock) if you can recommend.

Q: Based on current fundamentals and projected earnings over the next 1 to 3 years which pipeline company would you recommend for purchase during this tax-loss season? ENB seems to have better growth potential in the next 1 to 2 years but PPL has been much less volatile over the last 3 years.

Q: My understanding that there might be hundreds of companies on the Venture and CSE exchanges involved with the BridgeMark Group. Can you comment it seems both exchanges have almost zero monitoring in terms of investor protection. The news was general downplayed and many of the affected companies named continue to attract investors.

“Based on evidence obtained in respect of the other seven issuers (companies), Staff are concerned that members of the BridgeMark Group also executed the scheme with those issuers,” stated BCSC. The other seven companies include: Kootenay Zinc Corp.; Affinor Growers Inc.; Beleave Inc.; Liht Cannabis Corp. (formerly known as Marapharm Ventures Inc.); PreveCeutical Medical Inc.; Speakeasy Cannabis Club Ltd.; and Abattis Bioceuticals Corp.

To date, BCSC has temporarily banned BridgeMark members from buying or selling shares of the 11 companies. It has also blocked all CSE-listed companies from using the consultant exemption to sell shares to BridgeMark members.

Q: Carmanah is selling its Sabik assets and will end up with net cash of about CAD $118 million. This for a company with a current market cap of only CAD $65 million. Are there significant residual assets after the Sabik sale? On its face it looks like this is an opportunity to buy a dollar for 55 cents and get the remaining business for free.
