Q: It must be known by now how Door Dash is replacing Payfare's service. Are they internalizing the immediate pay function or are they selecting an alternate provider? If it was easy to internalize the function aren't other customers likely to follow suit? Pls. give me your best guess on Payfare's future - does it have a saleable service or not?
Thanks, Hugh
Thanks, Hugh
Q: Further to the questions about CIPF coverage, I think I may have been misunderstanding the coverage levels, perhaps viewing it as similar to CDIC coverage in terms of accounts (not dollars). Could you please clarify for me the coverage in the situations below, assuming all accounts are held at the same brokerage:
1) I hold $1 million in a cash account and 300K in a TFSA, both in my name alone. Total is $1.3 million. Is the total covered or just $1 million?
2) I hold the amounts above, plus a $1 million cash account held jointly with my wife. If I read the CIPF website correctly, they view this account as held $500,000 by me and $500,000 by my wife. Is she covered for her $500,000, but I have no coverage on this account (my total over 3 accounts is now $1.8 million)?
3) in addition to the accounts above, my wife and I each have a RRIF. Are we each covered for up to $1 million in each of our RRIFs?
Thank-you

Q: Hello,
With the interest rate is trending lower, the utility sector should benefit from it. Can you please ranking the above company for 3-5 years holding?
thanks,

Q: Hi 5i
I'd like to add to a small TFSA investment, which today is 100% in VGRO.ca.
I will add funds so that 25% will be in VGRO.ca and the other 75% would be spilt between 2 to 3 of these: ZMMK, VFV, ZSP, ZDI, XIU. Timeline is 2 to 3 years and thinking to be more conservative because already have VGRO for growth.
What would be your ranking highest to lowest. Are there other ETF's that I should consider?
Thanks!

Q: I have been reviewing my holdings and want to transfer some canadian stocks to the us listing. In most cases there is the same stock on the nyse. In others it is on pinx. Should I be wary of pinx?
Q: How would you rate how management has run these two companies over the last few years? Please include at what valuation or price point one would comfortable starting a small position, if at all. Thanks.
Q: I owned this company since it was Orocobre and traded on the TSX. It went through various buyouts and a plunge in the price of lithium. It is now traded in NYSE and a cash buyout offer for 5.85 has been agreed by the company and Rio Tinto, the buyer. The price has risen to 5.55 but the deal does not close until mid 2025. Should I sell and leave the final 5% and assume I can earn that elsewhere in 8 or 9 months? What would you do?
Q: I hold a small amount as a market hedge as the beta is -.16. It trades very thinly and has not issued any stock for at least 10 years. Going back 6 years from 2022 EPS did not grow at all. In 2023 EPS grew 63% from a low base in 2022, and sales 8%. For the 1st 6 mo. of 2024 EPS has grown 36% and sales 6%. In the 2nd Q of 2022 "Project Eagle" initiative began in an effort to revive anemic sales and margins in the US. Technically, the chart looks very positive. The company now has its first every non family member in its 106 year history, as its CEO effective September 1 2024. He had a positive 10 year track record at Coke prior to joining LAS.A in 2020. The company held its 1st ever investor day in 2023. Do you think more shares in this company could be purchased here on the confidence that a turn around is in place? Does the rational for holding and potentially acquiring more of it make sense. Please add insights you may have on the company and the sector it operates in.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Q: I'm down 21% after the drop on ASML today - does the news today mean a valuation change, and would you consider it a sell? Thanks.
Q: How does one know if they are "catching a falling knife" vs. buying a stock at a good price? For instance, I've been following DRX and the stock has been falling consistently for several months now. 5i has often recommended buying stocks that are establishing new 52-week highs and recognizing positive momentum, but has also continued to recommend DRX.
Q: I would like to invest in the space, how would you suggest allocating between these linked companies based on risk and reward?
Q: For greatest return potential 1-3 year timeframe regardless of sector for TFSA, which company would you choose for CDN stock and US stock. Thank you!
Q: With the AI revolution in its first innings and data centres needing more and more energy to run them, and with the MSFT deal to open up the nuclear power plant on Three Mile Island is it time to start a small position in stock LNG? Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks, Lesley
