Q: Hello Peter & 5i team,
A few small queries:
1) BNS is in the balanced portfolio and yet it is the worst performing of the big 6 (3.8% 5-yr compound total return vs 10.6% for TD and 10.4% for Royal)
2) You switched Stantec for WSP Global last year; why not own a half position in both (for a chicken like me)?
3) For an indirect exposure to the US residential housing, I'm debating between Interfor and Western Forest; which would you suggest? (or should I be a chicken here too and own both?)

Q: What do you think about Kevin O'Learys ETF,s
OUSA .. which I believe in hedged against currency and is supposed to be a high dividend ETF with low volatility.
Wonder if you think it's a good and stable investment and also, as its dividend paying ETF, if it's good for Canadians ... given withholding tax and our devalued dollar?

Q: I understand that if I transfer a stock from a non registered account to a TFSA a/c I cannot claim tax loss on the transaction. Am I correct to assume that if there is a gain, then a capital gain is not applicable as well?

Q: the recent data seems to suggest that the markets,reflecting the average stock,is in a bear market with growth slowing, and recent interest rates seem to be going lower to reflect that. If we are in a bear market, how does one make money, as opposed to preserve capital?

Q: I read most of the questions and answers to help me stay informed with the market. Haven't read whether this is a long term correction in the market. James Hodgison, Curvature Hedge Funds seems pretty accurate as in December he predicted a bear market beginning in January. He is right. Vector Vest eventually will come on and say that they had told everyone to get out of the market in January. They predict history. What do you see happening in the next quarter? Thanks so much.
