Q: Good afternoon,

Could you please pass along on how best to take advantage of rising copper prices both using an equity( s) and etf.
Same question as it applies to the semi conductor space.
Please feel free to deduct 2 credits as I have posed 2 questions.

Thank you,
Brad

thank you.

Q: Hi,
I read an article called “The World Relies on One Chip Maker in Taiwan, Leaving Everyone Vulnerable” that appeared on the WSJ.

Apart from TDM, NVDA & INTEL, are there any others names in the industry that you could share or recommend?

Thanks,

Q: I bought these semis over the past few years in different accounts at different times in both non-registered and registered accounts. All of them did very well for me. I added them up yesterday and noticed they are over 5% of all my invested assets. As much as I hate to sell winners I probably would have to trim soon. Do you have any suggestions as to the trimming methodology? Reduce each and every one by half (or third) of its current value. Selectively sell some and not others? Sell the ones in registered accounts as there is no immediate tax consequence. keep the ones in taxable accounts? Sell some and keep the promising ones (can you tell or predict?) ? Any other suggestions? I have a high degree of risk tolerance. Thanks.

Q: What stocks would you look at that could be expected to benefit from the apparent shortage in chips? I have a 3-5 year horizon.

Q: Taiwan is in worst drought in decades. TSM is in Taiwan and much water is needed to make Chips. Should I sell TSM and purchase another Chip Company. What company should I purchase NVDA, AMD, MRVL, QCOM, INTC ?
China is also a threat to Taiwan and is currently sending War Planes over Taiwan. This is another problem facing Pres. Biden.

Q: Currently I own all of these semi conductor related companies in my taxable account. QCOM, AMD and MRVL are still at a loss since the March downturn. All others are in positive territory, especially SMH. Should I continue to hold them all as core holdings for the long term or would you trim or delete any? Is it still a good idea to hold SMH because the ETF owns a number of companies like ASML, AMAT, an MU that I do not hold?

Q: PINS where it is today; TWAIWAN SEMI-CONDUCTORS where it is today;
3 months from where they are today - which one will be higher? Second time around with PINS it was a pick on Market Call a couple of years ago and so I am thinking of taking the loss again and moving on. Answering this question will provide me guidance. I notice a lot of stocks have a big pop after earnings and then give it all back (eg. SHOP). What is your take on this? Relying on your good advice.

Q: We keep hearing chip shortages lately, and will imagine that "AMD', TSM', NVDA'....chip names will do well as a result of strong demand and price power etc. But most of these chip names are all well below their February highs. Could you help us understanding the share price and demand divergence observed? If we buy any of these names, will we be rewarded? If yes, which one or ones you like? Thanks

Q: I have held CVS for approx. 6 months and virtually it is flat. There have been many recommendations from the street however I have 22,000.00 which seems to be dead money. Should I sell and buy some tech stock like Oracle or Taiwan semiconductor. Do you have a suggestion other than these 2?
Cheers, Doug

Q: Current market volatility has me seeking companies that have 'wide moats' making them somewhat less susceptible to market noise. I would appreciate it if you would suggest the names of some American companies that you would consider to be 'wide moat' types of companies. If there are some that currently provide value this would be a bonus.

Q: Hi,
Could you comment on my profolio for a 5 year hold? Should I add/remove/replace any of the stocks?
Also, Cathie Wood said she is expecting a drop of the market this year. However I currently have ZERO cash position. Do you think I should trim my profolio to have some cash? If yes how much percent do you recommend?
Thanks!

Q: Good morning.
I am looking to buy one of the 4 listed. My distillation of reading your responses to questions is that you would recommend NVDA. Is this correct? Thanks.

Q: I would like to use my $10,000 in my TSFA for a technology stock, either software, hardware. I am balanced in my account, so I would like a growth even speculative stock. It can be either Canadian or US

Q: Hi,

I hold a 2.5% position in NVDA after selling half to lock in my original costs. I'd like to pick up another high growth chip maker/developer/fabricator, and the listed companies are on my watch list. Ideally the company would have a great balance sheet (net cash), a pipeline of great products and great opportunity for growth - no dividend needed. Can you endorse one or two and/or recommend something not on the list?
