Q: RBC direct investing is offering a private placement at $76.15 while the last trade was at $78.24, does it make sense to place an expression of interest. Secondly what does the following mean. " Please be advised that if you participate in this new issue offering, RBC Direct Investing will receive a selling concession equal to C$1.43 per share"
If i expressed interest in owning 1000 shares would i actually get less? Please help me understand the math and logic behind this?

Q: Since Pure was bought out at a healthy premium, all has been quiet on the merger/acquisition front. You would think with the US dollar at a hefty premium to the CDN dollar that more US companies would be interested in gobbling up a Canadian company. I know—no crystal ball—but do you see any possible attractive targets for a US company.

Q: What are your thoughts on utilities and Canadian telcos closer to the end of the interest rate cycle? Thinking of letting the insurance stocks I hold appreciate further in value and selling some to buy Canadian utilities and BCE and Telus since i own no shares in those three now and they will probably fall further. ???????

Q: Recently, I got cash from AAR.un buyout from Blackstone. To replace AAR.un I thought about these two companies (I have no exposure to senior housing now) What is your opinion about these two companies ?, Main risks and resistance to a downturn in the economy. Will you favour one over the other ? Or split the funds equally on both ?

Q: For your member looking to receive USD dividends after buying a CAD stock:
You should be able to buy BIP.UN or BEP.UN in your CAD trading account then have Scotia transfer the position to your USD trading account and make an election to receive the dividends in USD. This way the dividends will be paid in USD and remain in USD. From there the cash could be transferred to your USD bank account as needed.
