Q: Some experts talk about a bank being attractive or expensive at a certain PE. For Canadian banks for example attractive at PE 10 and expensive at PE 15. Do you consider RY a sell right now or should one disregard this approach.

Global X S&P 500 Index Corporate Class ETF (HXS $95.96)
-
Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight Index ETF (EQL $41.60)
Q: is there an equal weight S&P 500 ETF that can be bought in CAD (but not hedged) and does not pay a dividend?
Q: Your thoughts please on the quarter? Markets seem to like it.
Q: Hello, I have recently invested in CSU (2 months) and saw the stock price go down by a third so far. In your crystal ball, do you believe there could be a catalyst at earnings’ time, to get the share price jumping? Is there a chance they might do a conference call, for once? I am tempted to sell for tax loss reasons, but it would be frustrating to see the price jump 10-20% afterwards… Thanks

Q: CN Rail shares were added to the Income Portfolio, Today.
If you decide to add exposure to rails in the Balanced Portfolio, which Canadian rail would be your preference today and why ?
You had mentioned before that CNR has a cheaper valuation and good dividend yield. But, I would appreciate your reasoning to cover other factors like future growth prospects, geographical considerations and total shareholder returns, as well.
Thank You

Q: GSY has yet to announce Q4 earnings release date, whereas in past years earnings have been released on ~ Feb 11th. Lack of an earnings date means it’s still another two weeks out. Should one interpret this as a sign management does not have their house in order or worse?
Q: I am interested in your general perspective on OKLO. Given the recent pull-back I am curious what price you see as being attractive as an entry point (if at all).

“Some of the most effective hedging strategies the Goldman analysts found fell into the third category: combinations of stocks and non-bond diversifiers. In fact, the best diversifiers were mostly filtered baskets of stocks, such as the S&P 500 “low volatility” subindex, which includes the 100 least volatile stocks in the main index. A 50/50 split between this and the S&P 500 would, from 1996 to 2002, have generated nearly twice the annualised excess returns (over cash) of the S&P 500 index alone. So would a similar split with the S&P 500 “dividend aristocrats” index, which includes only companies that have increased their dividends every year for the past 25. Diversifying into “quality” stocks (with high returns on equity, stable earnings and low net debt) would have brought similar returns.
Today, the idea that the best way to hedge equity risk is with equities feels unsatisfying. Considering the alternatives, though, it might just be the best shareholders can do.”

Q: What do you think of the quarterly results. would you shortlist for including in the investment portfolio after the 10% drop?
Q: Given the age of Prem Watsa, does Fairfax have a detailed succession plan? Is anyone being groomed? What do you feel the impact on the company would be if something happened to Prem? The P/E seems quite low at 7.83. Is this a relatively safe entry point? What do you see as the biggest concerns with this company?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: I hope I don't sound naive asking this question, but I keep hearing that proprietary data is something of a moat for TRI, and for companies like X, SPGI, and perhaps even businesses like yours.
What is to prevent an AI engine like Anthropic from simply buying a membership and then having access to that data with which to answer questions?

Q: Hi,
Been waiting to buy TRI as it is really oversold, but still dropping. How will we know when we get to total capitulation (and the bottom).
Is someone going to ring a bell? lol

Q: " AI-focused logistics firm Algorhythm Holdings said its SemiCab unit boosted customers' freight volumes by 300%-400% "without ‌a corresponding increase in operational headcount."
The above AI powered logistics tool news caused a havoc among most Trucking and Logistics stocks resulting a drop of 10-20 %, in Thursday's trade, giving back all gains of last few weeks. Dow Jones Transportation Index was down 4%, today.
Do you see this as a long term threat to the sector ?
I am curious to have your take on whether this news/AI scare could impact rail stocks also, in any way.
We were planning to initiate a position in CNR, but not sure, if the move warrants a caution in near term.
Thank You

Q: Do you know if the big drop is due to the multinational Defence, Security, and Resilience Bank (DSRB) announcement? Maybe the competition from engineering firms outside Canada ? ..
Q: Hi! Any reason for the 12% today? Thanks!
Q: Kraken Robotics shares lost 10% in Thursday's trading on a day when most defence stocks closed higher ( Even with DOW and Nasdaq closing in red ).
What could be behind the selling ? Should we be concerned ?
With Anduril Inc, expected to go public, some time this year, my impression has been that PNG should be acting strong ( as a proxy ). Your thoughts, please.
Thank You
