Q: Dear 5i;
I am planning on retiring within a year and would appreciate your opinion on my proposed portfolio.
1-40% bond etf`s -CLF,CBO,CPD and XHY.
2-15% in large cap high dividend paying stocks.
3-25% in combination of US and CD stocks.
4-15% inUS ETF`s VFV , VGG ,and ZWH.
5-5% in Asian and European ETF`s -ZDM , VEE .
Do you see anything glaringly wrong with this setup and are there any percentage changes you would recommend ?
I realize a portfolio is a very personal thing but would appreciate your input .Income is important but I'm having a tough time deciding between percentages of fixed income assets versus equity . I`d say that I'm a moderately conservative investor so not opposed to some degree of risk .
Thanks so much for what you folks do . You provide very valuable information to investors like myself and and I'm sure are highly depended upon by many similar to myself . Please deduct several points for this .
Thank you
Bill C

Q: could you give me your comment on NVCR
Q: I came across this company while running a few screens over the weekend. Growth is impressive, and they're in a rapidly growing niche. It is acquisitive and reminds me somewhat of the DOCKs here in Canada. I know it's on the small side and that US stocks aren't your specialty, but can you give it a quick look and let me know if you agree with my findings? If you approve, I'll likely make it a 3-4% weighting.
Q: Hi All at 5i! Could you please refer me to a good source that explains the use of puts and calls to create income. What would be the best stocks to use for, puts and calls. I am not 100% clear on this whole topic. Cheers, Tamara

Q: Can you comment on zs earning thx Kim
Q: Hi, I only have a small ( insignificant) portion of my portfolio in energy..Having not much success in this sector in the past. Is this a good time to start a full position in ENB and PKI? Thanks.

Q: I have held CNR and ALC for my transportation exposure for the last several years. I am not impressed with ALC's performance. Is TFII a good switch for ALC? TFII has had a good run and I am underwater on ALC.
Q: I don't think CPG's debt at 2.2 times cash flow is that big of an issue - VET and CNQ, for example, are at 1.7, so it seems to me to be manageable. They also hedge a fair amount of their production. I know management is in the penalty box, but it's trading at 2.1 times 2019 cash flow, which is ridiculous. This seems to be a "screaming" buying opportunity for patient investors. Thoughts?
Q: Wondering what your thoughts are on this fast growing stock.
Q: Do you have an estimate of SIS earnings per share for say 2019 with their Swiss acquisition and any observations on issues associated with the integration of the new co; also is your price target of 21 based on the combined earnings and for which year?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: My question is 2 part.
I am a long term investor, ok with risk and fluctuations and no need for the cash anytime soon.
Ive read a few of your comments regarding some hesitation towards emerging markets. Would you sell out of VEE or do you see it doing something positive soon?
What do you think about buying into one of the trillion dollar companies now? I was hoping for a dip on Amazon, but that doesnt seem likely to happen. Do you have a favorite? Would you reccomend using the proceeds from VEE to do this or keeping VEE and using new money?

Q: About ALA, FTN, PIC-A, how safe are those dividends ? For income would you buy any ? If so in which order. If none are buyable which other high dividends payers would you recommend ?
Already own over 20 dividend payers but mostly are under 5% except BYP, KWH, BEP, NWH.
Thanks for your help.

Q: Hi there,
Do you know if there is a minimum holding period for this Sprott product? If so, how long is it and what is the penalty for early sale? I have contacted Sprott four times with no reply. Tx.

Q: Good afternoon 5i team
My wife and I are retirees and conservative investors. On the recent decline, I initiated a 1% position (in total) in the captioned gold stocks; it added diversification to our portfolio. Given that gold securities could suffer in a general market decline, I'm wondering if I should continue to add towards a 5% position now, or wait for further possible declines to increase our position. Thank you for your comments. Edward
